2003 CAT 740 TRUCK WONT TURN OVER

2003 740 cat , One day began smoking upon trying to start replace starter replaced starter Solenoid It's not the neutral switch, it's not the dump lever or the parking brake. Does anybody have any other suggestions that they might have dealt with before would be greatly appreciated

Have you put a turning tool on the engine and rotated it at least 2 revolutions of the crankshaft to ensure that it turns over freely.?

No, sir, I have not but that is not a horrible idea. I could Totally see that being the cause of a started fault. I will check that thank you sir
