Today's road call. 1845C with hydraulic leak.
Sight glass empty.
Power up and lock boom.
Remove seat, floor plate, counterweight, belly plate, and run machine.
Zero leaks.
Finally, it dawned on me that breather hose was clean at the end, directly above the majority of wet in the pan.
You'll notice that I missed a step in there.
Pulled the engine dipstick, and it's twice over the full range.
I can only assume that the shaft seal on my 25 year old high flow pump is gone.
So, it's a little tight in there, but the pump looks to be able to drop out the bottom.
So, finally, the questions...
Can the gear remain on the pump when removing?
Or, is it like the injection pump where the gear must be pulled first?
