1845C Battery Removal

Sounds kinda stupid but I am trying to replace the battery on my '96 1845C and I can't get it out. It is too big to come out.

Can the side panels come off like the old 1845? It looks like there is a track and rollers for the side panels but it also looks like the panels are welded to the frame.

Ideas?

Also, how does one go about raising the lift arms when the unit doesn't run? It may be easier to get out that way and surely easier to work on.
