    From the numbers on the wires, this appears to be the solenoids. What is the function of them. Aux 2-way? I've installed a hydraulic thumb and its working correctly. Would this be for a hammer or other rotary function? Constant flow? I'm looking into the O&M manual but who has a CD anymore? :p

    Just picked up a Cat 303.5. While doing some cleaning, servicing and inspection, I found a cut/broken wire to a solenoid near the battery. Can anyone identify this? Everything seems to function fine.

    It is not my first machine and I've operated and owned a few pieces of equipment. It makes sense to have this info going forward for diagnostics. I will gather as much of this as i can when i take possession later this week. And don't be too amazed, there are a lot of things I'm still learning...

    Sorry it took soo long to reply. You probably took care of it already but I never did. My wiring haarness was so bad, I wound up having to replace the entire thing. Relays were not included
