Thanks Welder Dave. Ya, I already have a 6Rxw for heavier work. Maybe I could better ask why the R model was optioned with a vpat when the N with pat blade is available. Is it just a beefier machine for heavier work? Which machine is balanced better or nicer to grade with? Is the N better in... -

Ya, I'm a little over due to upgrade from the D4. Lgp is preferred for the softer conditions we get into, and stability working on slopes. More wear I understand but I'll give up a little more wear for the stability and floating. -

D8H engine oil pump failure, what to do?
Also the oil pump is not locked up and doesn't show signs of having been locked up unless ice had done it. No water came out when I cracked open the drain plug though. Water was in the front sump, but did it come in from rain or from the steam cleaning? It was very sludgy in front sump like it... -

I finally got around to pulling the pan and what I found was the bracket up front that the oil pump drive idler gear is mounted on had broke and then wedged the gear into the front cover. I'll need a bracket and idler gear and repair the front cover. I checked a rod bearing and they look great... -

I removed floor plate to inspect suction line to the pump and decided I didn't have enough time today to dig into that spaghetti nest of hoses with the large suction line at bottom of it all. So I did take apart the quick drops, yep dead simple and in my opinion nearly bullet proof. Nothing... -

Thanks for everyones input, I will check for any possible air leaks on suction side first as that sounds like a real possibility cause of the cavitating pump noise and foam in reservoir. If no luck there then I'll check the quick drop. -
