Chrome shaft pitting repair back yard

The epoxies for wear surfaces are made with very hard fillers, typically ceramic. You would not want that in any hydraulic system.

When I see a disaster like that I think of calling the foreman and telling him the situation. Then ask him to send over the fellow on the top of his $hit list.

    Has anyone else heard this?

Thats what they were, C10 Chevys with a small block V8. I wouldn't have thought of shifting the engine forward.

    Has anyone else heard this?

I have had a couple of pickups where I rewelded the teeth on the flywheel with an acetylene torch while still in the truck. It's just a couple of teeth. 10 minutes and it starts again. The price of a new flex plate was more than the value of the truck not even counting installation.

Owner of some Heavy Equipment passed away

If it was local I'd recommend either Big Iron or Purple Wave. You can check, I don't know if either one of them go that far east. You might have a similar auction service closer. Either one of these houses catalogues, advertises, hosts the auction, and handles all the money. They both get...

    3406E, looking at one, comments?

I looked at a '96 FLD120 today. 3406, 5EK. It has seen little use for last 7 years, clock shows 420K, overall condition looks like could be correct. Engine started good and sounded good from the start. No smoke on snap throttle. I took it for a drive, rolls coal hard for a short bit on...

Re Arching a 1972 Cozad RGN

All the bending strength is in the flanges. Boxing is for torque ridgidity.

    Back Up Cameras

What of these solutions are wireless, and will work on the back of a trailer with a load? I bought a wireless camera several years ago and mounted it on the rear of a trailer. The signal wouldn't go around the load on the trailer.

    Operators too good to clean.

Shimmy, I don't think you appreciate how much busier New Hampshire is than North Dakota. Almost twice the people with only 1/8 the land area. ND has an edge in GDP per capita, but most of that is oil money, and it doesn't tend to stick around.

    Watching the eclipse--welding lenses

I chased the '17 total eclipse, cool thing. We had about everything, pinholes, special glasses, welding helmets. It was neat to experience, but chasing it with wife, son, and daughter-in-law was better than the eclipse itself.

    Strange buyer's

You can walk in and ask for your money in cash. You may have to wait a few days for a smaller bank to get that much cash on hand. However, in some states more than others, southern states especially, a sheriffs deputy or state trooper will soon pull you over for crossing the fog line. They...

    Strange buyer's

$10,000 cash in or out requires a CTR, currency transaction report, unless you are a business that routinely deals in that much cash. If you get a cashiers check made out to yourself that counts as cash. Now, what bankers can't tell you, is amounts over $5,000 cash in or out usually require a...

    Different transmission configurations

I've not seen a low deck big block in a factory GM truck. I know a couple of guys that claimed them, but a quick glance showed they were tall decks.

    Komatsu D57S-1 Head gasket seep

The face grooves on your shrapnel suggest it could have been a thrust washer.

    Navistar Engineering

This poem is from an earlier day, but the sentiment is the same. The Designer The designer sat at his drafting board A wealth of knowledge in his head was stored Like "What can be done on a radial drill Or a turret lathe or a vertical mill?" But above all things a knack he had Of driving gentle...

    Dump box floor

Salvage yard? Know anyone cutting up a large tank? When I refloored my truck I used 3/16 scrap I had acquired many years previous from a 50,000 bbl tank that was local that was being scrapped. Even steel from a 8' tank would work, easy enough to flatten with a hoe.

Here ya go Note the wide flat between splines that shows shallow spline axle.
