Can the ends of the Dead shafts on the older caterpillars be built up and new threads cut in?

The diesel/electric 7E is discontinued. But there is now a diesel/electric D6 xe and D11 xe in the lineup.

    Massey Ferguson 600c

I’ve never ran a tractors like yours, but the large lever on the left w the h m l looks a lot like one on a fiat allis. On those moving the lever forward and back is forward, middle is neutral, and rear is reverse. When you move the saftey lever it should move the lever into neutral. Moving...

    Cat D5G Quick Question

It’s been a while since I was on a G but if I remember that since the tractor is hydrostatic there are no gears so that was more like a reference to gears/speed.

    Gainsborough Loading Shovel M.O.D.

Sometimes topsoil will polish it pretty well. Almost like how a tumbler polishes rock or rifle brass

If you look on pa mining’s YouTube channel there’s a pretty good video on one. I’m sorry but I don’t know how to share the link or I would.

    850k lt jd dozer

Unfortunately it’s a pretty big pain. But this was the first time this mechanic tackled this. Getting the new coupler aligned was the worst part.

    850k lt jd dozer

And 850k had a similar problem this summer. I’m not a mechanic just an operator but I did give the mechanic a hand. It was the plastic coupler between the engine and the hyd pump.

Deere 850K, Does this sound normal??

    Yes it sure does.

Cat D6R Jerking into reverse? Newbie question

First off I’m no mechanic, but if I recall I was running a couple 6R’s that were shifting very hard almost jumping even w the decel all the way down. The mechanic swapped out what I think was some kind of solenoid just above the transmission looking from the rear. Maybe nige knows what I’m...

Deere 850K, Does this sound normal??

Not sure if it’s normal, but I ran the same machine but a ‘13 for years and it always did the same thing.

Looking to buy my first dozer

The 6N has a 6 way blade. The 6R came w many blade options, straight, semi-u, angle and 6 way. As far as the rear attachment goes they also came w a winch, scarifier, counter weight and drawbar. Not to mention the many types of track configurations. As long as you’re not prying on the stumps...

Buy a military auction new/old Case mc1150e bulldozer viable? Economics, parts availability and cost, reliability, potential , return on investment?

I hope I wasn’t seen as bashing case. Just a little lighthearted humor. At this point w the way things are going I can barely afford a tonka dozer. And btw god bless those old two stroke Detroit fuel converters. We wouldn’t be the country we are today w out them. And my hearing wouldn’t be the...

    Regular Maintenance on Cat D4H

It’s been 20 years since I’ve been on a D4H but if I’m remembering correctly it had the Teflon or some other kind of plastic bushings on the blades to take the place of grease fittings. There was another D4 but it was a conventional drive of the same time fraa as me that was the same. I hope...

    Undercarriage Shovel:

Looks to me like it’d fit wedged between the fuel tank and rops then use a bungee cord on the handle.

I just bought an Eimco 103C

Welder Dave is right. Those old two stroke Detroits loved being ran wide open or not at all. If they idled a lot, they’d start to slobber out the stack. I’ve seen this on quite a few Ts-14’s w that same engine on the back do that.

Are you talking about the left or right pedal?

    Michael Ralph, D4 transmission issues

I’m w Dave on this. Why add another part that you have to worry about when you have a vent that’s functioning just fine as is. PCV valves are a pain I know because I had a 6.5 gm diesel that loved going through those things.

Is a second bucket an option?
