    Takeuchi 153FR randomly stalls

So, since I had the computer hanging there while I was testing voltages and grounds, I went and did as you suggested and tapped on the case of the controller. Wouldn't you know it but it came to life!! I had just ordered another controller too. I'm looking forward to seeing whether I can find...

    Takeuchi 153FR randomly stalls

My old 153 suffered from similar issues. I sold that and got a newer machine with low hours. Now wouldn't you know I'm suffering the similar, but slightly different, issues. The dealer now wants $3000 CAD!!

Takeuchi TB175 starts and runs but no console lights

That's amazing edrrt! Good for you! Such a great feeling to find and solve the problem. I will check my looms to see whether corrosion appears to be setting in or is a factor. Better to fix the problem before it begins than wait until it becomes a problem. Posting your solution will hopefully...

Takeuchi TB175 starts and runs but no console lights

Can I ask how this ended up for you? My TB153FR has started having the same issue, though it's intermittent - the worst kind of issue. It happened the other day when I was going to move the machine so I brought it home to try to diagnose. My behavior is that the machine runs but all the...

John Deere 60 G versus the rest out there.

Good to know. I'll call in tomorrow to our dealer.

John Deere 60 G versus the rest out there.

Yes the Wain Roy is a travesty IMO. Okay for rental yards but for anyone else, terrible.

John Deere 60 G versus the rest out there.

Oh wow I was unaware that there was finally a replacement! Thanks for the heads up!! I very much agree that it's difficult to go back to a standard swing machine. I'll be taking a serious look at the 257.

John Deere 60 G versus the rest out there.

What are you going to replace it with? I still have my 153FR and am loathe to get rid of it because of its unique abilities.

Tilt Rotators - questions and thoughts

I don't think I could give up having a machine with a dedicated thumb. Where we live there is lots of rock and trees. There's no way that little pinchy thing on the back would be able to do half what I need to do. So, in order to make up for that, I'd have to constantly switch back to the...

Takeuchi TB80FR boom not raising :-(

If you lift up the cab, you can see the small pilot lines that go into the cab for the joysticks. One of the lines is the supply line for the pilot functions. Sorry my machine isn't at home or I'd take a photo for you. Anyway, you can tee into the main distribution line and check for pressure...

Takeuchi TB80FR boom not raising :-(

There's more than one pump. See attached diagram. Can you confirm that there is pilot pressure i.e. to the joysticks?

Takeuchi TB80FR boom not raising :-(

Check the arm rest contact switch. I remember a broken wire near the switch some years back. Without the switch closed, you have no pilot pressure and that is the symptom you are describing.

Control Panel on EC 45 Volvo

You don't need to have it programmed straight away but all the computer functions won't be available. The machine will run fine.

Control Panel on EC 45 Volvo

Hi all. My friend had an EC35 with the exact same problem. After much diagnosis and hair pulling it turned out (knock on wood) that it was a bad ground connection where the ground wire goes into the connector plug. It wasn't completely broken but was causing enough of a voltage drop (due to...

Takeuchi TB80FR boom not raising :-(

I have manuals for the TB153FR, which should be pretty similar. You can pm me with your info and I'll send you them. Since you say that the pattern changer has no effect, it would have to be either something in the cutoff circuit, or the main valve itself. Does the boom lower, or attempt to...

Very jerky no feathering control for swing

I had the a similar issue with my Takeuchi TB153FR except it was stick/boom. At first I suspected a sticky spool in the main valve but then ruled that out (same issue when pattern was changed) so I started tracing the issue in the pilot circuit. I plumbed in a test gauge to watch the pilot...

    Schaeff Walking Excavators

I'm still around :) and still have the same machine.

experiences opinions on excavators for embankments and slopes spider type

It's a pretty broad question and I'll answer this from the perspective of a Kaiser owner. I own a Kaiser X4M similar to the being loaded onto the truck in the pictures above (their's has a custom forestry cab). The X4M is a pretty bulletproof machine but doesn't have quite the same reach or lift...

    Home made Kubota KX91-3 thumb

Nice job! Did you fab up the main pin too for that price? What material was it made from and did you have it hardened (if you don't mind me asking)? I have a very similar thumb on my TB153 and one thing I would like to do when I have time (which will probably mean never) is add two more tines to...

    2007 takeuchi tr153fr

Maybe you're not finding anything on Google because you're searching for tr153fr instead of tB153FR? The operating weight is supposed to be around 12,700 lbs (w/cab). Add a few hundred more if you have a thumb.
