Kobelco SK200LC-IV, crankcase vent blowing oil

Ah, okay. I'll have to look into that as well. The gauge unit on this machine is admittedly hard to read (though functional). The LCD probably got moist at one point. If the oil is diluted with fuel for whatever reason, would you say it would stop doing this if at the proper viscosity? Now...

Kobelco SK200LC-IV, crankcase vent blowing oil

Thanks for the insight. When you say "fuel dilution", are you talking about water in the fuel? I was having some of that for sure. Would that lead to broken rings? (ugh....) What about that vs "oil dilution", which I don't have (ie no water in oil, at least insofar as it's black, not gray)

Kobelco SK200LC-IV, crankcase vent blowing oil

Oil seems fine and level maintained. Puffing: hmmm. Don't think so, but I'll watch for that next time. In the theoretical event of puffing or such, what would be your diagnosis? Is there a crankcase vent "part" that should get replaced? I see various versions of breather/filters online.

Kobelco SK200LC-IV, crankcase vent blowing oil

Hello all, SN YQU3362 on this girl, mid-late 90's. Cummins 6bt5.9, though I don't have the engine SN available yet. (I'm an amateur mechanic, but this one I haven't learned about yet.) I've got a lot of oil coming out of the crankcase vent hose on the side of the block, on the hydraulic pump...

Injector pump issue on Kobelco SK200-IV (6 cyl Cummins w/ Bosch IP)

To close this thread, indeed after some additional fussing I finally got 'er running again. Here's what I did: - Opened metering piston cover again and inspected, while moving the fuel shutoff lever pretty aggressively stop to stop--no motion observed but I haven't found any documentation on...

Injector pump issue on Kobelco SK200-IV (6 cyl Cummins w/ Bosch IP)

I suppose I can rig up a fuel can above it and gravity feed, but it does spit out plenty of fuel out of the return line when I open it and crank, and also if I loosen the fuel intake port it also seems to have plenty of pressure. ZERO is coming out of the individual injector lines. I haven't...

Injector pump issue on Kobelco SK200-IV (6 cyl Cummins w/ Bosch IP)

Hello everyone, I've got this machine, was running well, then not, and after some history, now won't start at all. Cummins 6cylinder engine, Injection pump is a Bosch, placard says 3929404RX (model I think) and SN M0325990058. Doesn't say which is which so not 100% sure. Said History: - it...

Injection Pump Issues: Cat 6 cyl engine in Kobelco 200SK-4

Hello and thanks in advance for suggestions. I have a late '90's Kobelco 200SK Mark IV with a 6 cylinder Cat engine in it. I'm not sure of the engine model, but images of it below. I'd say I'm a decent amateur diesel mechanic skill-set-wise I'm having some injection pump issues. History: -...

Help debugging JCB 217 loader's hydraulic failure on bucket curl

Would you say there is anything particular about JCB cylinders that one should be aware of? Likely I'm going to fix this one myself.

Help debugging JCB 217 loader's hydraulic failure on bucket curl

Well, to wrap this up, it seems that the guys that rebuilt the curl rams last (a big pro logging outfit around here, big CAT shop), screwed it up. A buddy of mine discovered the dirt seal on one ram was bulging out, so we pulled that ram and looped the hose. We discovered the primary seal also...

Help debugging JCB 217 loader's hydraulic failure on bucket curl

Looking at the hydraulics schematic some more, could it be that one of the check valves or pressure relief valves is stuck open somehow? I'm still not getting my head around what could possibly be off here, which is to say, I haven't deduced from the schematic some scenario that corresponds...

Help debugging JCB 217 loader's hydraulic failure on bucket curl

Good point that it may be internal (and about the creep). I'm going to get some plugs and plug the hoses on each side and see if each ram works or not independently. However, since the thing literally/actively slams down in the neutral valve position, it seems like it's the valve. If I put it...

Help debugging JCB 217 loader's hydraulic failure on bucket curl

Here's the troubleshooting page. Could be: - clogged pipe/hose, but unlikely - ram not leaking - ARV? not familiar with its function - valve block section blown (no leaks, check valve? linkages are okay) - check valve, not sure on the function it - HBPV, not sure on the function of it - piston...

Help debugging JCB 217 loader's hydraulic failure on bucket curl

Hello, I've got a 1996 JCB217, generally in good shape, and it recently had a strange hydraulic failure that I'm trying to get my head around. The front end loader bucket curl, is malfunctioning. Specifically, when the control rod is in the valve-neutral position, the bucket readily curls...

Bobcat 863, Deutz 1011F, need help with diagnosis

Update: So the machine did sit for 2-3 days since I last started it, and the fuel had again drained out of the lift pump. I also took the cover off the lift pump, and as it turns out there is a strainer in there, and it was quite clogged with grit, seemed like rust of sorts, probably from an...

Bobcat 863, Deutz 1011F, need help with diagnosis

Hey guys, thanks for the suggestions. I do know from the guy I bought it from that the most recent timing belt is in fact recent/low hours. I have no reason to doubt it. :-) After sitting for more than a few days, the lift/supply pump does seem to lose fuel, so apparently the check valve in...

Bobcat 863, Deutz 1011F, need help with diagnosis

Hello all, I acquired this machine a few month back and have more or less fixed a variety of issues, including overheating and fuel/oil leaks. Today I bolted the muffler back on top of the engine, and after some manual fuel pumping and jump starting, got her running again. She'd been sitting...

Bobcat 863 with Deutz 1011, valve cover vent question

Thanks, Delmer. Is that a NAPA sort of product? Never seen anything like it.
