Waker Neuson ST27, opinions on this new model?

I can't find much chatter online about the ST27. Just wondering if anyone has used them or seen them being used, looking for opinions/reviews.

Cat 226b thumb wheel switch replacement

Hi, The right joystick thumb switch died on our 2007 257B2 this past month. I use a grapple attachment a lot. I had CAT mobile service in today for a look. For what it might be worth, his determination is that the ECM (part # 2160658) under the floor board is not working correctly. He said...

Cat 257B2, loose tilt cyl lower bearings?

Noticed recently some movement in these bearings on our 257B2. Video uploaded to youtube. I got this unit used but it's in pretty good shape, for some home landscaping. Been getting into some tough soil conditions (given the size of the MLT). Assuming I should replace sleeve and pin for the tile...

257B2 - how to determine if relief circuit for tilt control is installed?

Looking at purchasing a backhoe attachment for the MTL. Mfg says: "The relief valve for the dump circuit is to prevent damage to your tilt cylinders in the event that the hyd bucket on the big arm puts more weight on the loader than it can safely hold. The relief valve would allow the tilt...

extending the vplow another 3 ft

I'm only going to use this to push snow and *maybe* a bit of gravel once in a while for the driveway. I'm no engineer but I'm assuming the most stress will be at the outer blade edge. I did think of leaving it solid and not touching the trip edge. But that would leave the new part with only 18"...

extending the vplow another 3 ft

This v-plow by Horst is just barely wide enough to clear the tracks when in the straight position. And when in the scoop/V positions its nowhere near sufficient. So I'm having a local welder add 18inches to each side this week. I did take into consideration the trip edge but I decided to just...

ice packed rollers can cause problems (pics) & a QuickAttach mechanical problem

I did get it to work this morning. It just worked for some reason. There was no snow or ice in the mechanics of the QA so that wasn't the issue. Maybe the switch in the cab is started to go, the machine at +4700 hrs. I've only had it for the last 50. We got in our local area maybe 36-48" in...

ice packed rollers can cause problems (pics) & a QuickAttach mechanical problem

Thanks. I do grease at reg intervals (8hrs). And yes, I do recall that there is some slack but I'm not seeing that movement either. So I'll tap with the hammer after lunch to see if it has an affect. I'll also try with a throttle increase too and see what that does. Appreciate all the help...

ice packed rollers can cause problems (pics) & a QuickAttach mechanical problem

Yesterday I did try something similar. While I did not tap on the with a hammer, from within the cab I pushed on them with a piece of steel. I do know that the cyl are a little slow to respond. Usually requiring to hold on the switch for about 2 sec before the right one pulls in and then the...

ice packed rollers can cause problems (pics) & a QuickAttach mechanical problem

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I store the machine in the garage and clear away snow when not in use. All the hyd on the machine work except for the QA. I can see the QA cylinders from inside the cab and raise to eye level so that I can watch them move. I even tilted the blade at an angle so that...

ice packed rollers can cause problems (pics) & a QuickAttach mechanical problem

Hi, Thought I'd share recent pics from last dumping of snow here in Nova Scotia. I'm using a v-plow on the 257B2. In the V or scoop position its more narrow than the track width. So the spill over snow gets driven over. And in deep snow it can cause problems of snow build up. Especailly the...

2007 Cat 257B2 cold weather not starting, request advice

I'm a relatively newbie to heavy equipment. But I do my best to keep up maintenance and prep on machines I have. I keep this rubber track skidsteer in the garage, so its out of the weather, but its cold in the garage (around 35-40F). I've been keeping a charger on the battery. All looks good for...

private lot owner wants to mate Farmi JL501 pto winch to skidsteer

I've got a CAT257B2. I want a small winch like the Farmi JL501HD (http://www.farmiwinch.com/JL501HD/) to pull out logs and thin the 15 acres of spruce and fir we have on our hilly rocky terrain. I like the fact its got a long length of cable and a quick infeed. But I can't buy one direct from...

CAT257B2 attachement to v-plow, left side not working, ideas?

one additional thing I discovered this evening was a blown 10A fuse on the panel. Not sure what it controlled, put its on the left side of the panel, top row, far right (adjacent to the #R2(?) big block fuse). I put in another 10A I pulled from the other side of the panel, but it didn't help...

Cat 257B 2 down on power

An interesting thread (subscribing). I have the very same machine, same year too. No fuel problems yet, thankfully.
