    Small dozer undercarraige opinons

Thanks, The little machine is a Furukawa and as found in other threads, parts are just not available for it. Nonetheless it is worth putting the effort into as its a handy little unit around my place. I was a bit brief in my post but I've already come to grips with having to marry a new...

    Small dozer undercarraige opinons

Hey all, My little CD5B has decided that its not only time for new shoes but new feet as well. I've decided after dismantling and removing the roller frames from the machine that a total rebuild is required. It leaves me in a position that allows me to use any brand of suitably sized...

    Furukawa CD5

I would be up for a copy too! Just lost a track and got it back on but would love to be able to have a schematic of the tensioner setup so I can work on it next winter.... Thanks, Jake

    Gold Rush D10

The show is the show. I catch it on youtube when I remember around Tuesday or Wednesday. This type of show is always better before everyone goes all 'hollywood'. I'm getting awful sick of watching tony rig and lift every-ting with fgukcing transport chain. That **** will get someone killed.

    Furukawa CD5B

When I change the fuel filter on mine its a real bugger to get going again compared to the 4bt 3.9 I have in a pettibone telehandler. All I can advise you on is to change the filter now while its not running anyway and then go thru a normal bleeding attempt to get it going again. good luck...

    Help me understand steering clutches

I don't know your system specifically but typically when you pull one lever or the other it disengages the steering clutch making the machine start a long slow turn to that side. if you pull the lever further it tightens the brake band around the clutch body and stops the track completely which...

How to grade smoothe a humpy road with a dozer?

Oh man, great thread. thanks everyone. i'll only add this as food for thought on the issue of asphalt as a driveway surface. Asphalt is a liquid, and requires constant use for compaction to maintain its surface. This is why it works so well as a main road, its because of the high traffic...

    Lubrication question

Thanks to both of you. I'm thinking that the water diluted what was in there down to about 50w. the seals should be fine :-) I'll use it next time.

    D3C III Brush Screens

The way I built the back screen on my telehandler was to invert the flange so it fit inside the ROPS like a window frame and then I infilled with the woven screen in the middle of the angle flange. Four bolts hold it in place. My reasoning was that any inward pressure would be met with full...

    Lubrication question

Well I managed to get ahold of a friend of mine who is a roadbuilderexcavatorloggertype and he said that while it seems that most manufacturers recommend using motor oil that its common practice to use 90wt that's hopped up with a jug of powerpunch in the finals. so that's what I did.

    Lubrication question

After searching some recent threads and printing a Lubrication chart which tells me to put sae 30 in the final drives of my little cd5 I've drained them to find them filled with gear oil. What should I do? fill as recommended or replace the 90wt? thanks for chiming in jake

Section for komatsu d20,21 and similar grey market dozers

Hey all, just got my little cd5pb running and am starting in on dealing with the rest of the 'deferred maintenance'. I'm wondering if anyone has a number for the hydraulic filter that goes in the tank? it measures about 3.875" od, 1.75" id and 8" long +/- with room to play on all...

    Furukawa CD5

One more post here to bump this to the top. I'm a new member so I am not able to send private messages yet. I was hoping to send one to Furakawamatt to ask him about the manuals that he has for the furukawa ce5 dozer. In the chance that he doesn't check in regularly here could someone send him a...
