    Hydraulic return hose on D7H

The hydraulic manifold hose on my D7H just went. Its the one that runs from the front manifold to the implement valve under the floor, and I am trying to take it out, I took out the cab floor pan, but it is very difficult to even reach the bolts let alone see them, that hold it in, is there a...

    Pulling rad out of D7H

yeah apparently it is expensive to cross the US border because the seals are $25 each and the core is $585 and our dollar is at about .92 cents US. Core was only $150 to fix hole, pressure test, high pressure clean it, straighten fins, and paint it. So fixing core cheap part compared to the $400...

    Pulling rad out of D7H

yeah rad guy said I was lucky it was the new style, cools better. The job was definitely a lot less work than originally thought was having nightmares about that. Hopefully pick up fixed core tomorrow, ordered all new seals too. Thanks for help, made a world of difference. If I was in the yard...

    Pulling rad out of D7H

Undid top tank and got out one section of the rad, it is not the folded core rad, just 8 big squares, I going to try and get it fixed, because there is just a small hole near the bottom and I think I will rotate them like you said Nige, as I think that is probably a good idea. I'll price out a...

    Pulling rad out of D7H

sorry, guess it would be one of those folded core rads, just looks different, but that is what the book shows, so I believe that is what they would have come with. Would be nice if it had those jumper style. They look like a lot less work.

    Pulling rad out of D7H

Ser#79Z001723, it is an 1987 I believe, 8 cores, are all straight across, not on angle, and I am pretty sure they are more than 1" thick.

    Pulling rad out of D7H

It is a high track with the eight cores. I assume I still need to take off the hood and side panels. It is a leak at the bottom, but can't really tell if it is the seal or the core. It looked like the core but couldn't really say for sure. If I lift the top am I going to need to change all the...

    Pulling rad out of D7H

I just got a small leak in the rad on my D7h and I need to pull it out, I am out in a pasture on a job a few miles from a trailer. Can I take the rad out by just taking off the hood and side panels? or do I have to tilt the rad guard forward. I don't have a pump to press out the side pins.

    Painting D7H Crawler

Thinking about repainting my D7H crawler, I am probably going to get it sandblasted as it has many coats of paint because previous owners just brushed on more every time it chipped or rusted. Does anyone have an idea of how much paint it would take to cover it, I am going to prime it with an...

    cat headliner

I haven't been able to find anything for the caterpillar cabs, mine is a d7h and they only wanted a paltry $266 for one headliner and $526 for the other so I ordered a 10 foot roll or cab insulation for $124 and i'll make my own.

    D7G Crawler

I would assume most of the G's and K's have had engine jobs by now because the early ones would be almost 40 years old. Unless you can find one that someone just used for going to church on Sunday, all will of them will have had the undercarriage done at least once. According to my Cat pamphlet...

    D7G Crawler

This is some of the trees I've pushed with my D7H A neighbor bought a D8 and he can definitely push a lot, but everything he has fixed on it usually costs about 30 percent more than the stuff for a D7H, I believe the D7H weighs about 10,000 lbs more than a D7G, mine with the winch and without...

    D7G Crawler

Gets pretty cold with no cab, you can bolt windows to the inside of the guarding to stop some of the crosswind and you will need a reversible fan to keep you warm. The engine guards tend to make them run a little warm when they have no screens, when you are walking and pushing bush. Days don't...

    D7G Crawler

That would be top dollar for a D7G, even if it has had everything done to it. Should be around the $50000 range, although they have come up in recent years due to the money in grain farming, The 8K is too large, in my opinion to move around very much, and for what you are needing. The D7H is a...

Best aftermarket crawler seat, air or mechanical

Only two distributors for sears in Canada, and the one out west only sells the cheaper ag version for the D7h because they sell the ultra seat for the high end type for crawlers. The ultra seats are assembled in Canada, out of foreign parts I assume, just like everything else. But looks like...

Best aftermarket crawler seat, air or mechanical

They are handled by ultra in Canada, not sure if it is the same seat or not. I am going to give them a call.

Best aftermarket crawler seat, air or mechanical

The ultra seat is a proper construction seat with a built in 12 or 24 volt compressor. Most highway truck seats don't have compressors built in because they run off the truck compressor. I can't imagine a seat that is built for an air ride cab, driving on paved highways being as tough as a seat...
