    Snow Removal

Here is my office: 2001 John Deere 344H. Works on a college campus. Best snow machine we ever bought. Also have a 4 yard snow bucket for it. Has what Deere calls stereo steering. The rear wheels also steer 18 degree's. This thing can get into real tight areas. So much so that sometimes you have...

    Dug my first hole...

I have a ride control switch on my JD 310G that somehow puts the loader arms into a float/dampener mode and takes the bounce out while roading the machine. You can watch the loader arms just go up and down adjusting to the bumps but the machine stays nice and smooth. No bouncing out of the seat...

    344H Died Help!!

Update 3 years later. Thought I would update this thread again since the problem occurred again 2 months ago, 3 years after the original problem, in case there are any other 344H owners having the same problem. This time I went through 2 ignition relays and finally had enough and called in the...

Deere's Quad dozer a must see!!!

That's what they use to groom the snowmobile trails in the Northeast now. Have you seen the trails in the last two years due to the lack of snow?? Stumps, Rocks and Roots are no longer a problem. LOL:D

What I did with a Cat 420D on my summer vacation

Well that would explain the lack of a middle piston in my view on the Cat. This machine did have the quick coupler on it and I think I actually remember seeing IT up on the top of the Cab after the 420D. Anyway it was a great machine and I would have no problem running it again if asked to.

What I did with a Cat 420D on my summer vacation

Well, this is only my opinion: Cat has automatic stabilizer raise which is really nice, better window latch mechanisms so opening and closing the windows is much easier except for the rear window on both machines The rear window on both Deere and Cat are too hard to operate in my opinion...

What I did with a Cat 420D on my summer vacation

Here is a few shots of the project I did up in the Adirondacks last week. This was at the camp that the college I work for owns. They rented a Cat 420 D and had me drive up from Mass. to operate it. We installed 2 55' telephone poles for the high ropes course. The Cat was a we bit different than...

    Rounded Dump Trailers

Do you suppose it might be because there is no 90 degree corners for wet dirt and loam to get stuck too so no banging, no jumping up into the body with a shovel?? I think rock and concrete etc. would slide out better. Just a quess

    Ultra mini excavator

That's a great little machine. I ran a Cat 304 mini excavator today with a thumb. Pretty neat machine. I got on it to give it some practice before actually using it to do a job and I was all confused cause I am use to Deere controls. Wouldn't you know it, I read in the owners manual that some of...

    Loader Backhoe fork lift attachment

Hi Steve, Yes, that price was for a set that would work with the 344 loader and with the new JD 310G backhoe. I have a set of clamp on type forks, but they are just too unstable with the Genie Lift because it hangs out infront of the bucket 12' feet. You have to carry it the long way as...

    Loader Backhoe fork lift attachment

Your correct the machine does have a JRB quick coupler, and the original plan was to purchase a set of quick coupler forks but that was before I got a qoute a few weeks ago. I can't justify spending well over $5000 just to get a set that will mount on the quick coupler when I have been using an...

    Loader Backhoe fork lift attachment

I need the names of some companies that make aftermarket fork lift attachments that would go on a loader bucket after welding on a set of ears

    Massachusetts 1c and 2a

Written test and a $75 fee and a current physical When I took my Hydraulics Test back in the early 80's it was just a practical test. I had to be sponsored by someone who had a licence and watched me operate. I showed up at the Department of Public Safety Building and was asked 4 questions...

    Massachusetts 1c and 2a

Ok Massachusetts operators. I have been licenced since back in the late 70's with a 2A licence for heavy equipment. I have also run ForkLifts for all these years which I thought was covered under this licence. I am now being told that NO my licence does not cover forklifts and I now have to go...

Alright big equipment guys need your input!

I lease a 410E from a local contractor for snow removal and the college owns a F450 which we park next to it. I would not even consider hauling that backhoe with a truck that small. By the way that backhoe weights around 18,000 lbs
