    D9r

Its been awhile since I had to do fan belts on a D9, but isn't there a trick to changing the fan belts without pulling the whole front of the machine apart. I seem to remember you loosen the fan hub and slide it forward on the bolts the slide the belts in behind leaving 2 bolts at a time to hold...

    Koehring 1166 long reach

Customer that I do work for has a couple of Koehrings, this 1166 is the small one. They also have a 1466 with a custom boom and stick for deep excavation. When I get my other computer back I'll post more pics from another job. Thats my Topkick service truck sitting under the boom after we...

The things we do for kids

Picked this up this weekend for my kids, It was easier to just lift it over the back fence then to disassemble it and take it out piece by piece through the side gate. The swings and tube slide are in the pickup parked out front. Those cranes are kinda handy for all sorts of things.

    D7R Quick drop problem

Hey Sheepfoot, I had a chance to check out the D7 again yesterday and found that if you hold the blade tilt function over while trying to quick drop it works everytime at idle. I'm thinking that maybe it blew one of the resolvers apart, I've seen it before on backhoes and loaders. Without the...

    D7R Quick drop problem

Hey sheepfoot, thanks for the reply. I didn't get a chance to check pressures yet, I got sucked into a main control valve problem on another machine, but I will check the standby pressure and main pump psi when I get sometime. I think I'm going to have to flow the pump at idle and see the output...

    D7R Quick drop problem

Got a call from an operator the other day says that the quick drop valve dosen't work on his D7, checked it out and blade will only quick drop above 1600-1700 RPM. Pulled the valve apartand checked for any garbage stuck in the valve or the orfice passages. Didn't find anything. My understanding...

We got a little problem here

Were waiting for the Hyundai dealer to see if Hyundai will sell us just the flange, if not then we may have a new piece machined and then weld it down, were mostly worried about the flange warping when welding. Would need to be milled after being welded. I'm trying to get them to commit to a new...

This Kobelco is going to be the end of me

I've seen alot of Kobelco's with Cummins engines and if its an aftercooled model usually there is a air bleeder on top of the aftercooler housing that you need to open while filling the radiator to push air out. It may eventually work its way out but 250 degrees is a little to warm for comfort.

We got a little problem here

Machine belongs to ALCO Iron & Metal in there San Leandro yard, is only about 4 years old, but they double shift it so it has almost 13 thousand hours on it. I appreciate the offer to help with broken bolts, but fortunately there are none. The weld failed at the flange for the slewing bearing...

    Hyundai with Shear

Hyundai 360LC-7A with Genesis 660 Shear, ripped out the flange that the slewing bearing bolts to. Had to have Biggie Crane and Rigging come out with 2 cranes to lift upper and lower structure out of the metal pile and place in a spot where we could work on it.

    crappy job

Nothing I can claim, I think the ones I had to wrench on are still turning rows in the landfill. Is that one a Scarab. Thats the only company that I have ever seen that makes those things. I think they build them in Texas or something. You don't use wrenches when working on them, you just cut...

    Case 9030B Help

Check for a manual override at the pilot valve bank, usually in the pump compartment, usually a thumbscrew on the back side of the valve. Used to override and bypass pilot lock. Be careful getting in and out of the cab though.

how is Hyundai Robex 210LC-7 and 320LC-7 ...

I have a customer with several Hyundai machines from 140LC up to 500LC. All setup with shears or grapples for scrap handling. The only problem I have run into consistently is overheating, coolers need to swing out for cleaning, but they did address the problem on the new 9A models with the...
