    New D7E ride quality

I have been running a newer 7E LGP for almost a year now and I really like it! But I have got to say this has got to be the roughest riding dozer I have ever ran, it's brutal on anything solid, and if you have to get into rock you have to keep it in 1st hear or lower to be able to stay in the...

    Tier 4 and beyond?

Been around quite a few of the new 6T tier 4's, we actually had the first one of the assembly line and those were always having problems, just got 2 new 6T's in july and they have been pretty good so far but they only have 600 hrs.

The lost art of slot dozing!

I will keep the start of my cut very steep, not the entire slot, Just need enough to get a blade full, after that you will level it out. Pretty easy to back up that.

The lost art of slot dozing!

Is that an 8??? If so that is a big blade for an 8. I know what your talking about willd8r, have pushed some real rocky material and when you start breaking the rocks out that are as big as the blade you pretty much gotta do whatever you can to wrestle them down the hill. But when it gets...

The lost art of slot dozing!

Ok so you are from the Chicago area? That makes a little more sense to me now why you think that, biggest dozer they have around that area with a S/U blade is a D8. TJ Lambrecht knew how to move dirt but when it came to pushing they had no clue, they had never been around it or had seen it...

    High speed reverse.

The decel thing with going from F to R is another thing i love about the 7E! I dont know how it does it but no matter how fast your going or how quick you do it, its always so smooth. Does anyone know anything about the tracks on the 7E and why they recommend you back up in that high of a gear???
  17. V

    High speed reverse.

The newer dozers (tier4) actually kick the dozer into ECO mode when trying to back up in 3rd gear which is just about as slow as full throttle 2nd, but if you have to back up at an incline forget about it. That being said i have been running a new 7E (not tier 4) And its geared different 2.2 in...

The lost art of slot dozing!

I guess what dozerman is failing to realize is that if the machine is still able to cut and material is rolling off the side of your blade from the start of your cut till the end you are not actually pushing what that machine is capable of pushing.
