    Feller buncher cb antanna

Drill-less method to find that reception sweet spot on your machine: Mount your antenna on a mounting bracket using all the insulators that your antenna calls for, (flat or 90* bracket depending on your overhang or flat lip of grounded metal). Use a decent "C" clamp and clamp the bracket...

    Dream machine

Consider upgrading that dream? May I recommend an air-ride seat and a cd player in that radio? Need those tunes in those deep dark canyons that radio signals just don't bounce into.:)

    Road builders

Thanks Jerry, The high-wide u/c is purpose built for the 324/325 I believe. A 324 uses the old 325B travel motors. Heavy duty everything. D6H heavy duty track links Good question. I will double check on that. (That's a 330D just to the left of the pic). 28" of ground clearance under the 325D...

    Road builders

I tried to find out the same thing late 2010, early 2011, when I was researching for a replacement for my 2001 Cat 325B which would meet the July 2014 OR-OSHA requirements for forestry application cabs. While we weren't in a hurry to purchase, I figured to find out what I could about the same...

    Dream machine

It is slick alright. I'd run it off my hammer circut, but I'm thinking we'd have to weld my quick coupler side plates to the little hoe's counter weight.... :D It was an interesting video, but can anyone tell me how to get them to completly load then play? I got it in 6 second increments.

    Loaders, Limbers and Roadbuilders.

Yes it is. Still working a few minor bugs out. Overall I'm pleased with it. I ran a B model Roadbuilder for the last 10 years, and it still is an excellent machine. I hope this one is built as well. So far I like what I see and feel. I wanted to add to the cab requirement stuff the guys were...

    Loaders, Limbers and Roadbuilders.

Hi JTL, When I saw HCF's post, it reminded me of thinking that same about that kind of configuration. I couldn't help speculating on it. Not actually planning on building one. Seeing some pics would be neat and I figured someone out there had to have already done such a build. Just hope I...

    Loaders, Limbers and Roadbuilders.

I've thought about using a leveling buncher as an excavator base also. Seems like it would work, at least for brushing, decking and pioneering. Heavy or large excavating projects would probably show us any flaws in the design. I might expect over relieving of the tilt circuits, and maybe damage...

    The Loggers Library

As a kid, I remember laying on the floor in front of the wood stove, looking at this book, over and over. When I got older, I actually read it. Over and over. Shoeing the Oxen and one other ox team photo were actually taken on our place. Also "Glory Days of Logging" and "This was Logging"...

    Loaders, Limbers and Roadbuilders.

Your exactly right CL! Your "rant" needed to be said. There's so much more out there being shoved at us. Makes alot of sense to increase exhaust temps to "clean" exhaust out in the woods. I'd say more, but I've got to get to work. If I remember right, 1980 Mt. St. Helens blast is what the data...

    salary or hourly

Hmmm, hourly worker with ample hours. Possibly restricted hours during the slow times or no work to make any hours- vs- salary? I thought about the same thing a couple of weeks ago. I'm working 65 -75 hours/week. Gotta make "hay" when the sun shines. But when the log market drops like it did 2...

what were the "weak points " of a D8L

The past few years, I've been using a D8K for road building and pit development. This May, my boss said he needed it's stump splitter for some of his jobs, and I would have to take the D8L for mine. I was a little disappointed since the first L I had ran always was over heating it's tranny. It...

    JD 750C not tracking straight

Any fault codes? Could be as simple as a speed sensor connector. Two speed sensors per final. 1 down low, 1 up at pump. (I assume the 750C is like the 850C). 3 access plates under rear. Stick found it's way in and pushed connector apart one one of our 850s. Plugged it back in and it was okay...

    Long reach trackhoe or Dragline??

HI ror76a, Is this the 200 LR compared to the dragline? If so, is that due to lack of deflection from the 50' tower? Or is it a reach limit because it stands alone with out guy supports? Do you have any pics of your machine? Just curious because a dragline might be the best answer at least for...

    Long reach trackhoe or Dragline??

Now for a couple of long reach pics from one of my projects. I finally got these transfered from my old computer. We own our own long reach excavator. It's a JD 270 with 66’ of reach. We had rented a couple smaller L.R's in the past to dig out an old barge slip. Had to haul them 1/2...
