    Bobcat 334 Mini Excavator

    My Bobcat 334 for some reason, has lost hi-speed travel. The thumb button appears to be clicking but not engaging the hi speed. Any advice to help minimize the troubleshooting would be appreciated. Thanks, VC

    Can you a just boom cylinder pressure?

    The boom should be able to lift one side of the machine up, if that is what you are asking. If may want to check the pressure relief valve and see if it is adjusted properly. VC

    d3b starting problems

    This happened to us on a Cat excavator. Turned out to be a circuit breaker just off the positive battery cable feeding the machine its power. As previously mentioned, check power at battery and go down the line with a test light. Good Luck, VC

    Crane pads or Grouser pads??

    The flat pads will be slippery, especially on hilly terrain with rock. Could be dangerous in very steep terrain. One option would be weld some re-bar to the pads. Good Luck, VC

    Travel MotorProblem

    Not to familiar with a Komatsu excavator, but I imagine it must have a center swivel. Check that the seals are not blown causing a loss of pressure. If the lever is getting harder to move, possibly a mechanical issue. I had linkage rust up on me in a Dozer that had pretty much the same symptoms...

    best size for septic

    IMHO, We usually use a Cat 315 size excavator. We have the reach and the 360 swing ability which is usually very handy. It has the ability to efficiently dig out most beds and tanks. It is also a little more portable that the 20+ ton machines. VC
