    JD410c cab heater

fan quit working on the cab heater and it's very expensive to buy from the dealer. Has anyone ever tried some kind of after market heater. I'm talking about the kind that's self contained. It's the coil, motor, switch and housing. I found one at Summit Racing for half the price of the Deere...

Anybody have an idea what size socket I'm going to need for the lug nuts on my '89 Ford L9000? It's out in a gravel pit and I don't have much for big tools. I'm going to have to borrow or rent some tools to take out there with me and hope I've got the right one. It's an hour drive one way...

I don't have a service manuel for my JD 410C, I only have a parts manuel. I've got two dipsticks next to each other for (I assume) the transmission and reverser or transfer case? Anyway, my question is do I check both of these levels with the engine running or turned off? Before I start it...

I've been using it carefully for 2 years with no problems. Well, the other day I was pulling stumps for my cousin when all of a sudden the bucket opened up...

    block heater run time

How long do you guys think I should let the block heater run on my JD410 if it's around 0* outside and it's been sitting for a week or two? Those cold weather starts can be mighty hard on an engine I'm told.

    looking for a ballpark figure

I'm not looking for quotes, just a rough idea what it would cost to have a JD 570 grader hauled from Georgia to Michigan. I don't know if this is a $1000 job or a $5000 job. I've never had anything hauled before. According to mapquest it's around 1300 miles. Can anybody give me some kind of...

any info on Fiat Alice 14C

Hi guys, does anybody have any info (good or bad) on the Fiat-Alice 14c dozer? I am looking at one and so far the only problem I know of are leaky final drives. Is this a fairly reliable machine. I'm also wondering what the weight of it would be as my trailer is only a 12ton.

    setting culvert question

When placing culvert, do I need to 'bed' the pipe with any particular material? I'm trying to think ahead so it doesn't wash out under or around it. This is a slow moving stream about a foot deep and maybe 2feet wide.

    looking at a grader

Hi guys, I'm looking at maybe buying a grader. The one I'm looking at now is a Gallion but I don't know the model or year. I would have to call the guy for more info. It has a Cummins engine and also has a wing plow that I would probably take off. Here's a pic of it (if I can get it...

    ton vs. yards

ok.....I'm kinda new to this. I'm trying to figure out the difference between tons and cu. yds. Is it different from one type of material to another? Is it close enough to call it the same? A guy tells me he wants 5 yds. of topsoil and I go get it. The place I get it from sells it by the...

    is the backhoe going extinct?

I've got a buddy that says everybody he talks to says the backhoe is on it's way out. The mini-excavator along with skidsteers and regular size excavators are what 'everybody' is using now. "nobody uses backhoes anymore". I'm sorry but I'm not buying it. I'd be curious to see sales figures...

I've been looking at some different dozers for sale and I found a couple that are the same model (JD 450E) but one has inside arms and the other has outside arms. Was this a misprint on the model? Why do some have the blade arms outside, what's the point?:beatsme
