    CAT 305 series... Your thoughts.

Manual coupler depending on the year will ether have a pry bar type coupler or ratchet wrench and a nut that you spin to manually lower a piston. You will happier with a 305.5 but there's no way you will be legal on a 15gvw trailer. The machine itself if it's a enclosed with bucket is right...

implements trencher and fail mower for mini excavator anyone have any experience?

I second that get the most HP and PSI you can afford for the mower. I run a 30EXHD on a 305.5 and it does great. Not sure I would want it on a smaller machine.

    CAT 305 series... Your thoughts.

I would go 305.5 if possible same foot print more power. We have 303.5E and 305.5D both have there place but the 305 is a different animal. Much more stable machine, more power and way more lifting capacity. The only reason I would go 303.5 is if you do work in a lot of real tight spaces. The 305...

    ~4T-5T Excavators

Not sure on the door but the price of the machine seems fair. One thing to think about is the 304 the 305 and 305.5 all are the roughly the same physical dimensions track width and length. With the 305 and 305.5 weighing more but have a lot more hp and breakout force. The 304s I have ran seemed...

Buying a dump truck in California

Theres know way the laws will be delayed. There has been to many lawsuits against carb for anything to change at this point. Down here they are already checking our compliance certificates at the scale houses and have been sending letters to remind us our 96-99 trucks will either need a pm...

Buying a dump truck in California

either by a 2010 or newer model truck or a older truck. Pre 1995 you will be good unitil either 2015 or 2016 depending on the model year. If you have work now and can make some money do it. If your just starting out I would not touch the dump truck buisness with a 10 foot pole right now in ca.

    Single axle dump

I would not attempt those numbers behind a single axle dump unless its extremely flat and dry were you live. I pull a 24 ton tag on daily basis with either a peterbilt 359 or 379 one has a built bigcam 400 (475hp) on the dyno w/13spd the other is a c12 425hp w/a 18spd. The trucks do good but...

    Looking for Advice - Mini-Ex + Mower?

I have a rock hound 30ex hd on my cat 305.5d (machine weights 14k) the head weight and power wise is balanced perfectly for what I do. It really depends on the terrain your working in, on semi flat ground a bigger head would be no problem but I'm usually up on pretty steep stuff would not want a...

    New Excavator Purchase considerations.

oh ya and with 30 head on uneven terrain with a fully extended boom it will wake you up! lol I would not want to try it with the 40. the drum speed is also perfect on the 30 matched to the 305.5. I m sure the 40 would work great but i have not tried. I cannot stand waiting for a mulching head...

    New Excavator Purchase considerations.

i have not replaced any teeth yet but i bought a extra full set when i bought it still sitting in the box! The takuchi was nice but i was not a fan of the cab at all. Another big thing for me is the the auger and hammer are interchangeble with my 289c. Dealer support here for cat is amazing...

    New Excavator Purchase considerations.

The e was not out when I purchased my machine. I had to order my d it took about 4-6 weeks. I know the E has the newer motor with more emissions equipment not sure if thats good or bad lol. I run the 30EXHD i have maybe 200 hours on it. So far it has been flawless. Really knocks stuff down quick...

    New Excavator Purchase considerations.

I have a 305.5 D with a rock hound mulching head. Works great plenty of power. My only complaint is no continuos button other then that the power to weight and reach ratio is perfect!
