Mechanics Tool boxes what brands do you guys use ?

Craftsman is pretty good.Mastercraft stuff is good too. They are all made by one or two manufacturers anyways.I beleive Beech makes all the Crafstman and Mastercraft stuff. Whatever you get,buy one with roller drawer slides. They still roll in and out nicely even when loaded.Friction slides are...

    2wd plow truck??

Any 2WD heavy truck will plow with fine with lots of weight in it. Concrete blocks, gravel, any load that won't freeze will work. If it's a flatbed, not a dump, using concrete mafia blocks works well,as they can be lifted on and off as needed. Without weight,it's going to be a tough...

Truck & trailer loaded to work

The bigger GM's are more nimble than the F450\550.Much tighter turning radius. The newer F450\550's got the fatboy D60,which does tighten it up some, but still not as good as the GM's.

    No equipment pricing

Most of the Unilock (direct) trucks around here have boom cranes, and will crane the material off right where you want it.Some of the new trucks are switching to those rear mounted 3 wheel forklifts for unloading.Might want to ask your supplier if they can bring it on a boom truck. Some of the...

    No equipment pricing

We have had similar situations here in the older areas of town.I have seen companies use a crane to lift a bobcat or mini-x into the yard to do the job, then crane it back out. They then use the equipment to do the demo, collect the debris, and take it right over the fence\wall and into a...

    Various excavators with GPS

Wow,1" is pretty accurate. I guess i'm used to the consumer stuff, which is lucky to be accurate to a few feet, and only if you have a good lock on multiple sats.

    Various excavators with GPS

Pretty neat stuff. I've never seen these before,so pardon my ignorance, but what are they used for ? Are these accurate enough that they can tell the operator exactly where to dig ? How well do they hold up in such a harsh environment ?

anyone have central hydraulics on a pete 330

A belt driven clutch pump will work for running a spreader as long as it has enough GPM required.Check with the spreader MFG for specs. You may have to make a bracket,or check with some different suppliers to see if you can find one. The crank driven pumps can be expensive,as you usually...

    GPS & Navigation systems

If you run a laptop,or small computer in the vehicle there are numerous options to do this.A plug in USB GPS or wireless unit will easily interface with the PC,and give data to any mapping software. Microsoft Streets and Trips is available with the GPS unit included for under $150.It might...

Bobcat M970 (Motor turning over very hard)??

A freshly rebuilt engine can be very tight until it gets running. If your starter motor is weak,it will show up now with a rebuilt engine. Did you prelube it ? Maybe the clearances are too tight ? Like Steve said, turn it over by hand, and see what is binding up.Maybe the pump isn't aligned...

    Ratcheting or Snap Binders?

I've seen the damage those chain binders can do,quite nasty. I've used ratcheting straps on smaller stuff like cars, trucks, and such, but didn't know they were even rated for tying down heavy equipment.I've never seen them used for that around here anyways.
