    Hmm. Thanks for the info. Seems as though Cat has us by the short hairs by not offering the switch as a separate part. My 257b requires that you maintain a bit of pressure on the thumb wheel to get it to center. Otherwise, the grapple wont stay open or bogs the engine when closed. Quite annoying.

    Is there an aftermarket switch available? seems easy to just replace the whole switch. Otto controls has a Hall effect, proportional thumb wheel For under $20. Not sure which output option would work though.

    It was a wire that had gotten pulled loose when we changed a hose. For some reason it was not in the harness and was spliced.

    Thank you very much for the schematic. I was able to trace the wiring and found a wire that hade gotten broken when we changed a hose last week. just bought the machine 2weeks ago. Still have a lot to learn about it.

    After a bid of troubleshooting, I’ve determined that I’m not getting power to the fuel cut off solenoid. The fuse is good but no power. Ideas?
