    What is this?

Thanks Brian. The mufflers on that RH200 aren't as bad as that MacGyver made one on the Torneau. The RH's resemble (their actually quite a bit larger) the mufflers on the Mt.Owen and Mt.Arthur Liebherr's down under.

    Travel MotorProblem

Well, making an assumption based on what you have described above, I would be leaning towards a bypassing rotary joint. But like always, before replacing a component make sure you have diagnosed it properly and that it is actually cactus. To me knowledge there's been a fair few threads on...

    magnetic pick-up/speed sensor

It can vary, usually jerky operation or stall the engine etc. What's the fault code?

    magnetic pick-up/speed sensor

What's the underlying issue here and which speed sensor are you refering to? It's a dash 6 machine, if there's a problem there will be a fault code.

    What is this?

Thanks Brian, I thought it may have been something as simple as a muffler, I didn't want to jump to conclusions however since it's like nothing I have ever seen. It’s very "agricultural" indeed. Do you happen to have any photo's of the RH200 you speak of or know of a place on the net where...

my digger is acting really weird

Ben, do you happen to have the hydraulic schematic for this machine? In one of your other threads I noticed you uploaded a page from the manual called the "Hydraulic System" which, at the end of the second paragraph says "(See Fig 2.5, Hydraulic circuit diagram)" - which is on the same page...

    First 800 Tonner in Australia

Ah well there you go, you learn something new every day, so thanks for the info Brian, I like being kept up-to-date.

    First 800 Tonner in Australia

Your correct John, they did have the 1st in Australia, followed by the second. However, the photo's that Mark posted are of Bulga's (3rd in Aus). Liddell now has the 4th. So there are in fact, 7 EX8000's in the World.

    First 800 Tonner in Australia

Going by the dates on the photo's I'd say it's Bulga Coal's, could be wrong though. If it is Bulga's then it was the 3rd EX8000 to land down under, if it's Liddell's it's the 4th.

    Cooked Komatsu Demag

I was wondering when these would finally reach the web, I knew it was only a matter of time! Now that these are out there I might upload a few of my own. They actually wrote in "Accross the valley" that it was "more productive" than a PC8000 and I believe the figures they quoted (dont qoute...

    Komatsu WA1200

Peak Downs by any chance? Are those later spec dash 3 models John or have they simply had the updated air-cleaner mod? Brake actuating bypassing the duo's and leaking externally at the hub or brake cooling bypassing the duo's and o-ring and over filling and diluting the finals and diff?

New equiment photos from a new coal mine in NSW, Pic heavy.

Rod, don't quote me on this, but from memory, the QSK60's in the 1200's at Cadia sit around 1800 horsepower (112.5hp per pot) and burn approximately 250 to 260 litres per hour with a duty cycle of 60 to 70%. Fuel burned until PCR is 4,160,000 litres (@ 16,000 hours) and believe it or not Bulga's...

Excavator lack of power- hydraulic issue or engine?

I somewhat agree with what John has to say. Since you haven’t really given us a definitive path to go down or any conclusive evidence that it is actually under powered then all you can do is check some values and compare against the specs to determine if there actually is any problem with the...

    320clu alternator problem

Did it come on and stay on? Flash on once? Does it flicker on and off all day long? Have you checked to see if the r-terminal is still connected or if theres a break in the r-terminal wire?

    Stranded with leaking swing motor.

Do you need to slew the machine to get it where your mechanic can repair it?
  19. Chris5500

    Stranded with leaking swing motor.

Are you sure it's the spline seal on the slew motor that’s leaking and not the pinion oil seal on the slew gearbox? I'm thinking you mean the pinion oil seal at the bottom of the slew gearbox since it uses 80w-90 and the spline uses 15w-40. If it is the pinion oil seal then make sure your...

    Loader Arms

Pull the MRV cartridge out and make sure there's nothing blocking the jet bore, if it is blocked then adjusting the pilot spring will have nil effect and the relief cracking pressure will be considerably lower. Have you tried adjusting your PPC pressure? If not then check it too for blockage...
