    Thanks JonathanMA. Glad I didn't try to get the strainer out. I replaced the fluid/filters - both seemed very clean. I'll run it a few hours and check it again. I'll check the throttle linkage also.. Thanks again, tpgtpg

    I've purchased a JD 544B that runs great until it warms up(1.5 - 2 hours), then the tranny seems to loose power. It does so in fwd/rev and hi/lo so I'm thinking its not the clutches. I changed the transmission fluid and filters but wimped out on pulling the strainer as it didn't appear that...

    544A J Deere Trans oil pump

    I'm having a similar problem. Can anyone tell me if the strainer can be pulled from a 544B with the transmission in place? (Looks really close to the frame - just wanted to verify before I tried to yank the strainer.) Thanks, tpgtpg
