    Case W20 loader question

There is a 78 Case W20 loader in the are for sale at a pretty reasonable price. Havent really been around Case loaders that much except for an old W14 feedlot special we loaded manure with. Is the W20 a fairly good machine would mainly just load gravel with it? Is it stout enough to dig pit...

    Bubble in the butt

Yeah I wasn't trying to start a huge fight. We have CAES systems on our productions dozers, and its funny how some operators especially the ones that havent ran a dozer withoutone dont have a clue if they are close to grade or not if their gps isnt working. I have been guilty of using that...

    Bubble in the butt

Not bashin Union hands in Illinois, but I am guessing that most highway jobs out there are union. Just razzin ya a little seems like every dozer I went by had gps and not too sure about it have just ran d 11s with CAES systems but it looks like since they had the sensors on the blade that it...

Why was CAT's 5000 Series discontinued?

Mainly because 5000 series can't hold a candle to Hitatchi. We have 3 5130's two 2500 Hitachi's and I think they now have two or three I believe 1950 Hitachi's not sure of the last ones they started gettin them after I started treatment and got my bone marrow translplant and won't beable to go...

    Suggestions for skid steers.

re Yeah I was kind of leaning towards the 1845 I believe the construction company I worked for just out of high school had one. It never seemed to break down. It should have enough hydraulic power to run a snowblower if I decide to get one down the road.

old dump truck or new dump trailer.

Was looking to expand my part time business a little when I get the clear from my dr.s and can go back to work to my full time job. Been pondering the idea of purchasing a skid steer and a dump trailer for small landscaping jobs and residential snow removal, but have been noticing that a guy...

    Suggestions for skid steers.

What years are the best one to look for. From looking online it doesnt really make alot of different in the price if there is a ten year difference in age. 1 Would 4000 hours be too much on the engine if it looked like a clean one owner instead of one that has had 100 different operators.

    Suggestions for skid steers.

Was lookin to possibly purchase a skid steer loader in the near future. I don't need anything fancy or too big. I ran alot of skid steers in the early 90's and am familiar with Bobcats and Case models. Havent been around them much in o.ver ten years so wondering what a good all purpose...

    Front-to-back dozing?

Cat mechanics out here tell us that its fine to change direction at full throttle. There are some dozers in our fleet that must not be set up quite right because some are smoother shifting directions than others. When I refer to production pushin i'm talking about back hoe dozer spreads in the...

    Front-to-back dozing?

Good point on leaving a little on top. Where I work there a quite a few operators that think they need to get every bit in the hole and they end up throttling down a little or about fall into the v. If you leave a little on top you can just raise your blade a little throw it into reverse full...

    Front-to-back dozing?

First gear all the way when production dozing. You can push three times as much and its alot easier on the machine.

    Front-to-back dozing?

Front to back is the way they want the production dozers to do it at the mine I work it. Its alot more productive than backing all the way up each time. Before I went to the dragline and was in the push I could outpush some operators by almost double because they insisted on backing up all the...

13 D11's pushing side by side in slots

dozer numbers The first pictures of the thirteen dozers pushing side by side was taken at I believe Black Thunder Mine and I think they were Washington Groups dozers. The second group of pics were definately taken at NARM. As for the 475 to d11 ratio I know that a North Rochell mine used to...

13 D11's pushing side by side in slots

Depending on when those were taken I could have been in one of the hoe's or dozers. Been grounding for dragline lately and havent been in the production push for quite a while

how is your 11r holding up?

11R heating up All of our 11R's like to heat up when it gets hot out. Think they put a different style radiator in most of them and that helps out alot. Make sure that your fan pump pressure is running about 1400 psi. when the engine temp gets close to the red. I think that is about how high...
