    Trimble Terramodel Users ?

I would say to try and contact your Trimble dealer first. Our dealer here in the North East often offers training classes and seminars and/or can help with setting something up. If no luck there, PM me, I know of a few people who travel to companies for such training.

    Trimble Terramodel Users ?

Tom, As Jerry was explaining switching from blade tip right / left, assuming you are using a Sitevision or GCS900 system on your dozer, you can also create custom vertical guidance points on your blade that are offset any distance from either tip in the Vertical Guidance Setup Menu. We have...

    Trimble Terramodel Users ?

Latrobe and Newbee, I'm in same boat as you Newbee, I've used terramodel for a long time, I've never seen dynamic updating design done, I don't believe that you can do it in Terramodel. The only dynamic interaction are with the use of dynaviews, but that is only for graphics/ plotting...

Hang on there "buck - O" I don't have time right now to converse about this right now, but would like to continue a discussion. Thanks, Larry

    Trimble Terramodel Users ?

928G & JDOFMEMI, Bless you both and the ones who know what they're doing and what it takes to do things right and efficient at the same time. I agree fully with the both of you, only problem is, dialing down and being able to manipulate your blade tips and to allow for overcut works fine out...

    426 cat trans rebuild advice

Taggmann, glad to hear she's back up an running, in both directions. Myself, I've been too busy with snow to lay it up. She's still going, with it being a gallon overfull, so I guess it'll wait till April before I re-build. I'll probably start a new thread then so keep your eye out for it...

taggmann, no news isn't neccesarily good news. How's it working for ya?

    Trimble Terramodel Users ?

Newbee, I can honestly say that in the 7 years of doing data prep that I've never received a correct surface or one that I can "plug-n-play" from the engineers. Some have been better than others, but always something in the surface grossly wrong, incompleted, or else breaklines crossing all...

    Trimble Terramodel Users ?

Newbee, Man I miss the good old days of just creating the FG surface. That was way before quantity calculations became just as much, if not more important, than creating a surface for machine control and survey stakeout. I too have been doing the same procedure of droping the Val and creating...

    426 cat trans rebuild advice

Taggman, FYI my parts book for the "C" says. Sequence: Piston-disk-plate-disk-plate-disk-plate-disk-plate-disk-plate-disk-plate- but then specs out different part # for "end plate" - then retaining ring. The end plate would be your 7th plate as described above. Don't know what to say other...

    426 cat trans rebuild advice

squirtman, I don't know for a fact, but I don't think there is a "mechanical type" neutral safety switch per say located on the transmission on these machines, at least on the powershift. As far as I know everything is controlled by the Tranny CPU located above the batteries in the battery...

I was looking at that earlier today, thinking to myself that " I didn't know Hellen Keller was a welder too!!"

    Trimble Terramodel Users ?

I was wondering if anyone on this forum just so happens to use Terramodel by chance? If so, the SG manager specifically with a provided Engineers Fishish Grade surface, is what I want to pick your brain about. Most of the work I do are highway projects so I just can't drop the FG surface for...

    426 cat trans rebuild advice

taggmann, did joseph send you a parts breakdown placement for the shims, plates, bearings, etc. Do they use the same part #'s as Cat? The Cat SIS procedures are pretty vague (such as remove ring, remove bolt, Which one?) and the parts book groups a crap load of the part number leader lines to...

    426 cat trans rebuild advice

squirtman, welcome to the forum. I don't have my manual handy to send a picture. I believe that most Cat tranny's have the screen located in the same place. There is an oval shaped plate with two bolts (roughly 2.5" diameter) located on the bottom of the tranny sump (lowest part of the...

    426 cat trans rebuild advice

taggman, I have been reading your other threads relating to your 426 transmission problems. When you were having problems, were there air bubbles in your tranny fluid when you pulled the stick to check the level? I have a '98 426cit with the powershift transmission and have had similar...

Swapping Patterns on 97 Cat 426C-IT

What I wouldn't have done to find someone to switch back and have some excavator controls available a couple weeks ago. The part number for the rod that would fit my machine is #9R-9722 @ $17.21 ea., and as mentioned by Cmark, all six are the same. This is based off a '98 1YR00581+ machine...

Swapping Patterns on 97 Cat 426C-IT

Forgot to add this in with my previous post. The control style selector switch for the Cat backhoes is only a vailable with the pilot control machines, not wobble stick, hence the 'D' and 'E' series.

Swapping Patterns on 97 Cat 426C-IT

I have a '98 426CIT and had just switched my controls to 'excavator style' controls, (ie left stick controling swing and stick) from 'backhoe controls', (ie left stick controling swing and boom). The 'D' series backhoes were the first to have the valve to switch from one pattern to the other...
