John Deere 310d 1993 crawls forward, backward is fine.

Hey Marc, get it back in with the right bushing yet? I know how you feel, I ordered 2 rebuild kits for a cylinder for my machine and both were the same but didn't have the right wiper sucks to be in that spot.. If you are still looking I will see who i finally called for the right part.. Pretty...

I’ll be keeping an eye on this forum form to hopefully hear good things so I can do mine around November.

John Deere 310D Backhoe reverser oil

Hi Joe and others, has anybody replaced their forward clutch pack? I think i am having the same issue, forward is really weak and the machine doesn't have much push but in reverse it seems to be fine. Thanks.

1993 john deere 310d brakes sticking

Hello, I somewhat recently purchased a 93 JD 310D turbo 4x4. While driving it home it took some time before I noticed the brakes had been sticking.. by the time i got it home I believe I burned out the forward clutch within the reverser. Now the machine goes forward but won't push very hard and...

Koehring walk behind 2 drum roller compactor

Hello, I recently picked up this drum roller from an auction. Its a Hatz diesel that runs well. I broke the belt as it was old and rotted but before doing so I found that mostly everything works, it goes forward/backward in high and low, turns good and even compacts. The trouble I am having is...

John Deere 310d boom cylinder rebuild/remove

If I pull both pins are the flex lines long enough to get it out? Or should I remove them first?

John Deere 310d boom cylinder rebuild/remove

Hi midnight, that’s the one. I have seen that video, is there a reason it’s not taken off of the machine? The guy rebuilding it would prefer to have it in the shop vs on the machine.

John Deere 310d boom cylinder rebuild/remove

Hello, the boom cylinder on my 93 JD 310d has started squirting oil out of the main boom cylinder seals. How do I get the boom cylinder out of the boom to have it rebuilt? I can only find one hydraulic line when I look for how it would come out.. has anyone done this?

    Reverser forward pressure test

Hello, I bought a 1993 john deere 310d and drove it home quite some distance with the brake hanging up, I didn't think much of it. Now when cold the machine goes forward and backward just fine although when you let the trans warm up it slips very bad in forward to the point where it will barely...

John Deere 310d 1993 crawls forward, backward is fine.

Well I do not think it’s an electric issue as it goes forward and backward fine while cold, slowly fading in forward as it warms. Replacing the fluid helped but not enough.. other than doing the pressure test I guess I should start looking to replace/rebuild the reverser. I’ve read that people...

John Deere 310d 1993 crawls forward, backward is fine.

Hello, I figured I should try and look into/change the reverser fluid first, I drained it and pulled the pan, the oil was dark but it did not smell burnt. When putting the pan back on I somehow cracked it but I think I was able to mend it with some permatex and now I will have to wait till...

John Deere 310d 1993 crawls forward, backward is fine.

Hi mg, how do I check the pressure? I believe it’s working because if you pick the rear wheels off the ground the wheels will go forward just not strong enough to do anything with weight on them. Is the trans pan different than the reverser pan? Thanks.

John Deere 310d 1993 crawls forward, backward is fine.

Hi, update.. the machine runs fine, the only thing I can think to do is change the reverser oil and from what I’ve found online there’s a forward clutch to be replaced. Is there also a reverse clutch? Has anybody changed one of these and can you speak to how difficult it is?

John Deere 310d 1993 crawls forward, backward is fine.

Hello, I just brought this 310d home and was having some issue with the brakes sticking. When cool the brakes are fine and I’m thinking they were never sticking just forward drive failing. When on a flat the machine will barely move forward but goes backward perfectly. What would cause this...

1993 JD 310d brake is sticking

MG, thanks. What kind of hyd fluid should I add? Any idea where I can find a service manual that outlines all of these systems/fluid requirements? It would surely be nice.

1993 JD 310d brake is sticking

MG, so it sounds like the fluid reservoir under the hood that goes into the tank is hyd fluid (hyd fluid short stick 6-9 inches).. confirming the one with the dipstick to the left of it is shuttle oil long stick about 2 feet… hyd fluid can leak past the seals and raise the transaxle level...

1993 JD 310d brake is sticking

Hello, so I tried this morning with the tractor cold. Lifted it up with the stabilizers and could almost turn both wheels by hand. If I used the slop between forward and reverse they’d budge but some kind of brake/resistance is still being applied to them. Both pedals did it simultaneously on...

1993 JD 310d brake is sticking

Hello, I will give the fluids all a look over again tomorrow. It drives fine cold, then once Drive it for an hour it’s like I’m trying to push something down the road with it. Then it gets to the point where it won’t go forward but goes backward just fine.
