Picking a NEW CTL, Deere, Kubota, NH, Bobcat, Cat?

Well, ok. I am going to assume that you don't live in an area that has a massive boom on construction. There are not enough dirt contractors and excavator companies around here. The construction industry has exploded around here the past few years. We are in the middle of a California...

Picking a NEW CTL, Deere, Kubota, NH, Bobcat, Cat?

Well, my renting experiences have been over a period of several years. A buyer's remorse over a +$90k machine is a pill a lot bigger to swallow, IMHO. While renting, you are still getting your jobs completed and that is substantially cheaper than hiring it out to be done. One project I did on...

Picking a NEW CTL, Deere, Kubota, NH, Bobcat, Cat?

You can get shallow buckets or deep buckets either factory or after market. That shouldn't be the deciding factor when spending +$90k on a new machine. I went with Cat as it had plenty of power for digging in wet clay, limestone rock with the tooth bucket, running my high flow brush cutter and...

Picking a NEW CTL, Deere, Kubota, NH, Bobcat, Cat?

Any specific reason you are looking at the 100HP range instead of <75HP range? The <75 hp range doesn't require DEF and the weight difference is not all that much. I have a CAT 289D3 XPS and it does everything I have asked it to and still has plenty of reserve power and lifting capacity in it.

Takeuchi TL12R2 - Crank, no-start - Where is my fuel shutoff solenoid?

Crack an injector line to see if the injection pump is putting out fuel. If you don't have any fuel at the injector, then start working your way backwards until you find the fuel issue. Will it hit on a whiff of ether?

    CAT 289D3

Hey Nige, you wouldn't happen to have access to electrical schematics for a 2021 289D3 XPS, would you? It is the H3 package.

262D - no hydraulics no movement - Drain hydraulics

I have used extraction pumps for many years on all kinds of equipment and vehicles. Heat the fluid up, insert hose and pump it out. The ones I used were not dispensers, they were just fluid extraction pumps. As far as draining every ounce of fluid, that would not be possible without complete...

    Sany

I will agree that many CAT items sold as used/new in auctions are being made and shipped from over seas. Look at the hand written notes on the windshields at the auctions. This is the latest stunt by privates sellers to sell overseas made equipment in the US. The unit has 1020 hours on it...

    Sany

Sany's warranty will only apply to the original purchaser. It is not transferable. If you see one at an auction that is brand new, it won't come with a warranty. Buyer beware. Ask Clint over at C&C equipment how he found out about that.

When you go to buy something, hire a skilled heavy equipment mechanic to go with you to inspect the machine. A couple hundred dollars spent on a mechanic inspecting a machine for you `before you buy it can save you tens of thousands of dollars on the back end on labor and parts, repairing worn...
