Ride Control Charging Kit

Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a ride control nitrogen charging kit. I was looking at this one, and the manufacturer stated it would work for standard Schrader valves, not metric. Would anyone know if that would be useful when dealing with equipment? We run mostly newer Deere machines and a few of our ag implements have accumulators as well. I know most of the newer equipment is metric fasteners, but was unsure on the ride control accumulators. I realize it may not be a one size fits all, but if it could work for most of our equipment it may be worth it. Im open to other suggestions as well if you have experience with any other kits. Thanks! https://www.onehydraulics.com/produ...MImamrxo-v8gIVjIrICh0e6ArwEAQYASABEgIn7fD_BwE

I've seen only two sizes of connectors on all the different equipment I've worked on. Most I've worked on were the small ones and that's what I had until I sold my kit about ten years ago. There was a swivel nut on the bottom and a T handle on the top to open the Schrader valve. I built my kit with a connector to the bottle, a needle valve hooked to that connector, a gauge on that and twenty feet of nitrogen rated hose with adapters to hook to the bottle side and the nitrogen fitting on the other end. I was charging rock truck struts back then so had to go to a 5,000 PSI gauge.

I know this is an old post but I have this kit I bought on eBay, I purchased it to charge “hydac” accumulators used on many different machines but it has adaptors to charge other accumulators also. It’s cheap enough and seems to work well. Any time I’ve used it around another tech they always end up with one on their truck in short order. 8E7750D4-6F80-4BC8-BA19-71102F0E1A88.png

I feel spoiled I got bothered the tire valve style and the one that has the Allen screw at a sale for 300 bucks. Haven't used either one yet tho.

Hi ahart. I was looking at a similar kit on amazon.de but is nearly double the price. I did not buy yet as I was trying to source reasonably priced gas. I want a rent free bottle as it should last me years. It is mostly Hydac units I want to top up and tinker around with to improve ride quality on boom suspensions and tractor front suspensions.

As far as versatility, I think that kit is great as it can do most any accumulators that I’ve come across. I don’t use it for the standard tire valve style because I have the CAT fittings for those. I bought that kit on a whim because the genuine hydac kit was above my price point for no more than I use it. It turned out to be a good buy.

I have a setup I use to charge shock absorbers with nitrogen. I got it when I used to rebuild motorcycle shocks (and subsequently big truck shocks for lifted trucks). I remember it being relatively inexpensive. Check with a mc dealer. It may have been a racetech item or maybe motion pro...

Ahart, for that price point it definitely seems like a worthwhile purchase. I ended up with the one in the first post and it’s worked well so far for me. Yours is more cost effective for sure
