Hi Everyone! First post here. I work at a scrapyard and we bought a Koehring 6644SK and I can't find a good parts supplier. I know there were multiple ownership & name changes over the years & Terex is the current name/owner. I found a couple of sellers on ebay & online that have pumps and seals but that's it. I did find a parts manual for it but it appears most parts are discontinued. Does anyone know if CAT or other manufacturer parts could be used? By the way, if you need a parts manual for the 6644SK, I'll email you a copy. It's a printable version also.

Thanks!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that is what I have to offer. Koehring as far as a mfg. of equipment goes has been gone for quite a number of years. Your machine is in the area of 30 years old and possibly considerably older. That said Koehring had a tendency to use off the shelf components on many of their machines unlike say Cat or Komatsu. But even the major makers again like Cat or Komatsu, when machines get to this age have a lot of parts that are either difficult or impossible to find. Once they consider it obsolete you are left to dealer stock, aftermarket, or wreckers until it also dries up. Even though Koehring was popular back in the day most dealers are either gone, sold, or the inventory sold off so the number of people that have experience or knowledge is getting thin.
There are a few rebuilders for hydraulic components on the web as well as a few local shops that can still source parts or make them as needed. The best I can offer is if you have a parts book, search the web or Ebay for what you need or source repair help on this forum.

I think you are going to have to make a list of the names of the components you might be looking for and ask in general terms what it does. You might be able to take a photo of any particular part and someone here might recognize it and possibly be able to point you in a direction for research. Unfortunately Koehring sat on their hands when the Japanese invasion of gray market machines hit our shores and then they tried playing catch up but it was too late. Not many were made and sold and the make dried up. All their component parts to the business were sold off.
Good Luck!

Like you & the other poster said, I'm basically SOL and that's what I figured. The Cummins engine we can get repaired but everything else is difficult. We need the joystick replaced; not working too well right now. Have to have mechanic take good pics for me and see if I can another manufacturer's part to fit.

Thanks for the answer. I knew I was SOL! Got off the phone with Groff Tractor in Lancaster County PA and he said the same thing. Referred me to Terex and I know what there answer is gonna be.
