Burkhalter owned that truck prior to the sale, before that it bounced around a little but it started off its life in Quebec at Abestos Corp. pulling bottom dumps.

Man did I just go into a panic trying to find these photos, thought they had been lost or deleted for a second...only took a year to post them up.

Taken March of 2019 in Awakeri New Zealand, just NE of the Tasman Mill in Kawerau.

Number plate off the white one says its supposedly a 1977 P10W - I don't know anything about the orange one.

Was cruising back from the mill and saw these parked up in a yard with no one around to ask further questions. Maybe someone on here can tell me more about them or knows their story even.

There's still a Pacific working the mill hauling doubles, I saw it in person but was unable to get a good photo of it. Struggling to find it online but know I have seen it out there, will cross link when I come across it for reference...

That orange unit looks like a KLC truck but I am not sure.

Well the DPF 839 white truck can actually be seen working in this video in July 2016 at the very beginning.

Still trying to find the actual photos I'm thinking of for the other potential truck at the mill …

Orange one would definitely be KLC. I'm not well educated on the historic NZ log haulers, especially since its been a year since I was working down there. David Lowe had a bunch of books in the late 80s documenting trucks around New Zealand, specifically a Pacific edition, that I have been trying to find for my own collection. But talk about a needle in a haystack for the ones I'm after...

Seriously awesome country to spot old and new off highway log trucks though.

Their other truck is a 1990 P500PF, the last time that I had seen photos of the P10 it was freshly rebuilt, rather sad to see it relegated to the bone yard. My records indicate it is a 1980 model so I am wondering if the cab was replaced at some stage.

Those photos were both taken by K. Hill in 2010 - more on the website.

So give me a week and I'll spontaneously remember where I saw things or how to find them again with a little luck.

The other truck I saw working the Kawerua mill in 2019 was definitely not the '90 P500PF, I distinctly remeber it having a steel hood not a newer glass one.

These are not my photos, all credit goes to AaronK and Davis Connor on Flickr, respectively. It's just my intention to use these photos for the sake of discussion and public information. I'm 90% sure this is the Pedersen truck I saw, I believe it is a P10 or P510 used just for internal transfer. Note the different rack compared to the DPF839 truck above.

But during my search I did come across a Rob Dahm P510 with a number plate of DPF 838 known as 'Double Trouble' and is listed as a 1988 according to NZ Transport records. This is again a Davis Connor photo, not mine.
Very very very unusual or hard to believe the truck I posted earlier, DPF 839, is sequential to this one. NZ plates are issued for life to a vehicle unless updated, which records show.
So the production years of 1977 versus 1988 make no sense on records, but it is very likely these trucks were brought over together and obviously registered at the same time. Good chance the white Pedersen truck used to be a yellow Rob Dahm.
DPF838.jpg

I don't think Double Trouble is still in service or I can't find it past 2012 timeframe, but Rob Dahm has another 1988 P510PS known as 'Captain' that is still actively working with plate ZU2181 which used to be a Williams & Wilshier (pinkish grey trucks) truck until 2008.

Rob Dahm still runs some old KW (K Dub as the Kiwis say) C500s as well which are mean - they like their old iron. RD is based out of Tokoroa / Kinleith which is about 1.5 hour west of Kawerua.

I have a bunch of records of the NZ trucks, I will take a look later to see if there is any additional information...
