Hey guys, recently bought a 2006 cat D5N xl. Just got to running her on a job. 1.) I'm new to the finger tip steering. Seems real finicky, ill ease into the paddle without much response, then ill increase pressure and itll lock up the track and mack a noticeable sound when it locks up. Both sides make the same audible sound when they are used to do a quick turn. Is this normal on these machines? I realize these controls are going to take time to learn, but concerned of a bigger issue if i ignore the signs if any. Most of my dozer time is on hydrostatic drive.
2.) Second issue i noticed was the hydraulic oil temp gauge isnt reading any increase in temp. Ran machine for 5 hours straight. Is there any way to check this? Replace sending unit? Where is sending unit located?
Thanks for any input!
