Hey, I want to run something by you about our Deere 850k we’re having a problem with. 3 months ago we had an error code come up saying “height spool positioning error” which caused the blade fictions to kick out. Originally we thought it was because of the cold, so we ran it around the site not touching the blade and after about an hour the blade started working again. This happed a few times after that. Once we shut the machine off and on again the blade would work for a few minutes but Kick back out again. Then all of a sudden it began working again with no issue for 2 or 3 weeks. So we never bothered to look in to it.
It happened again, but now it doesn’t go away when we warm the machine up, but it can be reset still by turning the machine off and on again, but as soon as we touch the lift or tilt it’ll cut out. The angle works fine, never kicks out. I’ve had 4 different mechanics look at it now including nortrax, and they’ve all come to me with different diagnoses. Nortrax has come back 4 times with 4 different possible issues, changing their mind on what part I need to change every time. Originally they thought it was the pilot controller, then the control valve, then the computer for the valve, and back to the control valve itself. We tried changing the computer, but nothing. I brought in another mechanic who thinks it has nothing to do with the hydraulics at all, but an electrical fault somewhere that’s making the computer throw an error. We tried a bunch of Things, and nothing prevailed. The machine has now been down for 4 weeks and none of the mechanics I hired know what to do, not to mention the dozen others I’ve spoken to over the phone. They’re at a stand still, they’ve contacted Deere engineering department and they also have no clue after all the diagnosis. I am curious if anyone have ever dealt with an issue like this before?

sounds like a lot of guessing and swapnostics going on
To me its problem that needs time to eliminate each section one by one
I would check wiring and plug terminals,
intermittant faults are time consuming to find.

You need the theory of operation on the controller and what trips the output from cutting off. Once you understand cost that much. Sounds like the only thing you didn't repair is the wiring, which is probably the problem

Did you ever come to a conclusion to your problem? I have a Deere 700K throwing a "tilt PVE spool tilt error". Does same as OP described, locks out all blade functions. Can only bring back to life by restarting machine.

How about a serial number and the specific code it is throwing?

mg2361 - the owner had machine hauled into Pape' for repairs. I was not given specific code number. Have not heard anything as to conclusions. Thank you for the response.
