The parts book calls my stick 9ft 9 in long yet I can't get this measurement any where. Boom pin to bucket pin on mine is 10 ft 6 in.

Any insite would be appreciated, thanks in advance, John

Not sure what excavator you have, but a lot of 160's have a optional 10'2"-10'6" stick. Far as i know, it should be between the pins.

Google the brand and model. You want to measure from the bucket pin to the pin on the boom.

Thanks guys. It's a JD 892d-lc and the book calls for a 9ft 9in stick. The 892e-lc has a 10ft 6in boom. Mine measures out at the 10-6 number boom pin to bucket pin so just verifying I'm gonna get the rite one.

Thanks again, John

The stick length is always an option. You usually can tell the stick length by the primary use of the excavator. Underground uses mostly the longer sticks, mass excavators and primarily dirt machines might have the short ones and general duty such as clearing and residential construction thinks it's just right in the middle. I have to measure all of them on a job.
