Psh, not like you own one or anything.

As you swing to the side, the chipper could be kept parallel with the road to keep it closer to the machine, if that was a concern/necessity. The superstructure should clear the guard rail, so you could have the tracks against the rail. One point to remember, the lift chart is from the center of rotation, not the edge of the tracks.

I'm with CM, those 321's got a good chart for their size. I've swung miles of 20' jersey barrier(~8,400lbs.) and never had a hiccup.

instead of the gravel ramp down the side of a deckover trailer how about a steel road plate off of the side of the trailer for a ramp. That would make cleanup a bit easier

Our new Zx245 Hitachi only measures 10'-9" when swung 90deg. And will lift 10k at most distances.

I worked in the industry for more than 10 years. As stated above there are plenty of heavy rotator tow truck that have outriggers designed to slide under guard rails and lift heavy loads over. 10000lbs over the side for these units is no problem at all. You won't have to worry about running out of safe lifting capacity as you would with an excavator.
