This is more what I was expecting from "old iron". I would expect this to be from the 50's.
It is mine and doesn't look to pretty right now. One of the tie rod ends broke off of the spindle where someone welded it on who obviously welds comparable to my welding so I have to weld it back on. Can't get the side picture to upload. I changed the name but the "system" still knows it's the same picture???

I have a couple of V4 wisconsin's, good old engines. I've rebuilt one and was amazed at how rugged they are built, roller bearings on the crank and stuff. I would not feel bad that a piece of equipment I aquired had a wisconsin powering it. You have to run it out of oil to kill them.
anyone else out here have any opinions on them?

Jeremy: I have a 63 Hough H30B and it's provided my 7 years of tinkering. I rebuilt the engine and made a quick tach couple for it. Enjoy.

Even that doesn't necessarily kill them. I was distracted in the middle of an oil change on a Wisconsin powered and forgot to refill it. I ran the thing about 15 minutes before I remembered it had no oil, my stomach went south when I realized. I shut it down and filled it with oil, the thing ran flawlessly for many years after that.

I thought those Wisconsins were great motors. Granted you had to choke them to death to get them started, but they'd run and run and run once they were.

I am looking for information on how to disconnect my flywheel from the torque comverter? I have a locked up c-263 gas engine. Do I have to rotatr the engine over to get at flywheel bolts. Thanks John

I haven't been on here in quite a while. Sorry for not replying. That is a V461D Wisconsin engine. I runs great. Right now I have what seems to be a detent spring bad so you can't "feel" the forward/reverse gears when you try to shift it.
As far as disconnecting the torque converter, mine doesn't have one. It is a manual shift. I still haven't found enough information to help me "muster" the nerve to pull the front off of the transmission to fix the shifting problem. I'm always afraid everything will fall out in my lap when I pull the front off.
Right now, one of the drive axle tires is flat. I went out to air it up and the valve stem came off in my hand so I have started trying to get it apart. I go out and beat on the safety rim with an 8 pound splitting maul trying to get the rust loose so I can replace the tube.
