Hey guys, our machine seems to be mixing oily substance in with the coolant, checked all the fluids an all that was low was trains fluid, hyd was ok,engine oil level was fine, trains was prob 3.5 gallons low, so I said maybe that was it, we topped it off an added some dye to the system an turned the trains oil fluorescent green, well it never sent any green to the coolant, the coolant looks to be like redish brown an floating around the system, not a complete slush tho , also the tractors air compressor is water cooled an it also has a qt sized copper mason jar that screws onto a houseing Anna’s the motor runs the compressor slowly draws the oil from canister into the air compressor , guessing as a luber system, we’ve owned the tractor for close to 5 yrs an allways adding oil to the canister everyday we run it, Tractor isn’t ran a lot , kinda seasonal, we use it to pull a Lawson chopper around the property to mulch underbrush an trees, I’m in the process of looking for more oil dye of several differ colors so I can put in the compressor canister, hyd tank, engine oil, an possibly the brake system, the tractor is equipped with air/hyds an inside the frame of the tractor is a canister that holds 30 weight oil , there is one for each of the tires. An I’m sure no one has drained any of the air tanks to look inside for oily nasty residue from over the yrs, but I will check it along with all four wheel canisters next time I’m around it. This big boy is basically an ole retired Vietnam tractor from back in the day, they were equipped with dozier blades on the front an also pulled a bowl around like a 657 pan. Hopefully someone out there is lil familiar with the 830, I’ve located the military manuals for it an gonna start reading while I wait for the differ colored oil dye to come in. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thx
