    working on a JD 755

Thank's, I suspected it was an expensive problem. Provided it doesn't get worse too fast I think it will do the job it was obtained to do and then we can do whatever we want to with it. Probably will swap it for something else.

    working on a JD 755

OK, been running it for 3 days and have a better idea what's going on with it. Transmission oil pressure is dropping too low under heavy load and it quits driving. Have to put it in neutral for a few seconds, wait for pressure to build back up and it goes again. Not too bad when cold but...

    working on a JD 755

First I'll give a bit of background. I own about 80 acres of mountainside and need to clear some of the useable part for pasture/small crop space. I work from home 100%, farming, logging, sawmilling, mechanics, metal fabrication, etc. 10 years ago I got an old D4 cat, rebuilt the tracks...

need a little bit of technical info on the Case D450

It made sense to me in my situation. (Besides I thrive on that kind of mechanical challenge) So if no one knows I'll just see what happens. It's almost ready to start up, just have to get the radiator put back on. I've set it up with 1.5-1 ratio to the drive line and a hand clutch lever...

need a little bit of technical info on the Case D450

but first a little background; I'm here in middle TN with 80+ acres on a mountain side to work with. + my neighbors 47 I can use some of as well if I clear it. I recently swapped my weak running '59 D4 cat for a case D450 track loader ID no. 3027760. with a piston rod sticking...

    '69 D4 continuation

yes, I was able to start the engine with them a few times at first, in warm weather. but two broke when I removed them the first time I took it apart, (bottom end still in the head) and then they wouldn't start it anyway, so I just use starter fluid to get it going. And it takes too...

    '69 D4 continuation

the forum will let me start a thread now so I can stop the confusion on the other one. I was thinking injector no 3 was at fault because it seemed to be putting out somewhat less fuel, but after cleaning everything some more it's improved so it's about as good as the others but still...

    D4C injection pump leaking internally

OK; what I found today kind of helps clear up the previous mystery. Evidently the injector screens were clogging at about the same time I made the transition on the turbo. Cleaning the injectors made a big difference, now it runs on 3 cylinders quite strong. Injector no 3, which is the...

    D4C injection pump leaking internally

Ok, thanks for putting up with a dual discussion for a bit. The 1960 date was someone's guess so, so it's actually '59 or earlier. The serial is 7U43662. I have had the governor apart and all I found was a minor bushing missing causing very slight looseness in one shaft, which I fixed, (spare...

    D4C injection pump leaking internally

I just joined, but it appears the forum will not let me post a new thread, however will let me do a reply. So; hope it doesn't irritate someone to hijack a thread? Related topic anyway. I'm on land in middle TN, fixing to start growing good food, (exceptionally good food) of the kind...
