    TD20E or D7G

Cheers D6 Merv! Yeah hearing you on all those points. Parts for the Dresser is definitely a concern especially here in Aus. Will investigate the engine thing, that is the first I have heard about that.

    TD20E or D7G

G'day all! I did search the forums for a thread regarding this to no avail.. A very important question for you:), if you were going to buy a farm tractor (I need to clear about 400ha of plantation stumps off my farm) What would you buy if the options were a TD20E or a D7G? I have always...

    1968 D4D question

A flash one having power shift! :) You have got me on the decelerator I would have assumed it would have had one standard. (Could be completely wrong there). Would normally be on the right hand foot plate I would have thought. I am sure there are guys on this forum that could descibe how it...

    1968 D4D question

Wow a flash one! On most of the gear I have worked on there is usually a screen prior to the filter, attached to or close to the manual priming pump. Sounds like you have it under control though, as what you have done is all I would do as well. Being power shift open the throttle wide...

    1968 D4D question

:) No worries, you never learn if you don't ask questions. I wouldn't worry about the puffs of white smoke at this stage, get it out and run it for a bit first, that could very well clear up with some work as well. The fuel, i would be more concerned that there isn't any water in it and the...

    1968 D4D question

The fuel in the oil can be from a badly leaking injector. But if that is the case you should be getting some white smoke with it..

    1968 D4D question

Sometimes the rings get stuck in their groves with years of carbon build up and sitting. Putting the engine under a bit load will get the temperatures up in combustion chamber freeing up the carbon and will let the rings seal properly on the bores again. As black60church says, it is nothing to...

    1968 D4D question

Could be the injectors. But with it idling for so long I would say it is oil getting up past the rings. With a bit of hard work it will probably clear up, as long as the bores aren't too glazed. Cheers,

    Oshkosh DA 1500/1800 FireTruck

As far as I can work out there is none here in Aus. But the US Marines have 1700 of these units in operation or did have anyway. They were a joint venture between Oshkosh and Rosenbrauer so I dont think they could be all that bad. But I have never seen one in the flesh so can't really comment...

Hi Guys... And girls, First time post on HEF. Don't know if this is the correct place but It will have to do. Anyway just wondering if anyone out there has had anything to do with the Oshkosh DA 1500/1800 fire trucks? If so what were their areas of weakness, did they have any...
