    1990 F700 service manual

We just purchased a 1990 F700 5 yr dump truck with a 429 4 barrel engine. It will be used as a ranch truck. Decent shape with a couple of common engine problems (couple of broken exhaust manifold bolts and a leaking valve cover). If anyone know where I could find a service manual for such a...

    8.2L GMC engine questions

I am looking at a mid 80s GMC 5 yrd dump truck that has a 8.2l GM diesel engine. I am assuming that this is a rebadged Detroit, but am not sure. Any opinions (either good or bad) on this engine. The truck has low miles (less than 50,000) and would mostly be used on our timber property.

Hydraulic Oil for Hitachi EX 120-5?

I am changing out the fluids in a recently purchased 1996 Hitachi EX 120-5. While I'm in the process of looking for a service manual for this machine, I am getting conflicting information regarding the correct hydraulic oil to use; specifically whether it has to be zinc free. Any suggestions...

JD 650G Pedal Steer Conversion Manual

Yes, that is why I'm interested in making the change. I also feel that I can be a bit more precise with levers than pedal - at least for what I'm using the dozer for.

JD 650G Pedal Steer Conversion Manual

One of my winter jobs is to convert my 1996 JD 650G from pedal steer to lever steer. Although JD once sold a kit to accomplish this task, those no longer exist, but I can order the parts individually. JD also sold a conversion manual that explained how to make this conversion. I'm interested...

    California Excavator owners

I have a question regarding the impact of California's diesel emissions regulations on older excavators in California. From what I've able to read, it appears that owners of excavation equipment must meet stricter emissions requirement by a specified time based on the total horsepower owned...

    Experience/opinions on Case 9010B excavator?

I've been looking for a 10-15 ton excavator to use on our timber property and several Case 9010B have come on the market. I would appreciate any opinions, experience with these machines. The two that are on the market are both 1998s and would be used 100-200 hours per year. Thanks, Logger

1998 Kobelco 130 LC Mark IV - Hertz rental

I'm looking at a used 1998 Kobelco SK 130 LC Mark IV. It started life as a Hertz rental and has had two private owners. It shows about 4,000 hours. My question is: does anyone know what factors Hertz uses to determine when to sell one of their machines? The current owner has put on 600 hr...

JD 650 Pedal to Lever Steer Conversion?

I have a 1997 JD 650G that I have owned for several years. It's a good machine and great for what I use it for. However, I looking into converting from pedal steer to lever steer. I know that at one time John Deere had a kit to make the conversion, but apparently they no longer carry that...
