    IHI 35N "Jerky" hydraulics

Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me a little more about pilot pressure. I'm no hydraulics expert. I have checked the relief pressures of all the functions and they were right where they're supposed to be. I don't remember seeing anything about the pilot pressure in the book. Will it have...

As long as the sprockets are still engaging, and the tracks aren't falling off, and there aren't any clearance issues between the pads and the rock guards, then there's really no problem running them for a while until you get some new tracks.....maybe next year.

John Deere 450 bucket shanks and teeth

Ok thanks for the reply. I'll give them a try after Christmas.

    IHI 35N "Jerky" hydraulics

Does anyone know why the hydraulics would become "jerky" sometimes? It doesn't happen very often but when it does I have to just let go of the controls.

Ehh, I've seen worse. Are the rest of the bushings getting thin?

John Deere 450 bucket shanks and teeth

Does anyone know where I can get bucket shanks and teeth other than at the dealer? This bucket never had teeth but I want to add them, and don't really want to pay dealer prices.

Need help getting a Cat 3208 turbo running

The years fly by so fast I can't really keep track. Maybe 10 years. The truck was run off road and had red dyed diesel in it. I put 5 gallons of new fuel in it too.

Need help getting a Cat 3208 turbo running

I bought a 1988 Ford C8000 5 yard dump truck that has been sitting for quite a few years. I knew the truck ran great years ago because I drove it, but after sitting for years I haven't been able to get it running right. The first time i tried starting it I hand primed it, and had a hell of a...

    IHI 35N Overheating

Thanks for the reply. I'll look at it closer when I get a chance. The excavator is on a jobsite and the highs will be about 105 degrees for the next couple days so I won't be going out there until next week. The dealer told me the earlier 3ld1 engines had the problematic 2 piece crank pulley...

    IHI 35N Overheating

I'm re-visiting this thread because summer is back and I'm trying to fight this overheating problem again. What year is your 28N? I thought the N models have the 3ld1, but I'm not sure. I will check the crank pulley again. I tried rotating mine but it wouldn't budge, and I verified with the...

    Dozer Identification

My best guess would be a D7 going by the rounded hood.

    IHI 35N Hydraulic pump testing

I'm no hydraulic expert. I talked to the techs at the dealer and they said to measure the oil temp at the hydraulic reservoir. They said normal operating temp should be 130 - 140 F. They said 170 - 180 is too high, and from what I understand, when it gets to 180 it starts ruining seals. I...

    IHI 35N Hydraulic pump testing

Thanks for the reply. The engine and hydraulic fluid is heating up. In the summer I can get the engine temp up to 220 F by 10 - 11AM. I shot the hydraulic fluid at 170 F. It should be about 130 - 140. The engine can run at high throttle with no issue but as soon as I start using the...

    IHI 35N Hydraulic pump testing

I have an overheating issue with this excavator (have an older thread about it), and at this point I'm suspecting there's a problem with the hydraulic pump that may be causing my overheating issue. I don't know the first thing about testing it though. Does anyone have any knowledge about this...

Wain Roy vs Werk Brau mechanical quick couplers on mini excavators

Thanks for the reply. I was watching a video of a brand new, never before used mini with a wain roy setup and the bucket looked a little wiggly. I like the idea of keeping as much bucket breakout force as possible for digging stumps and rock, but I'm leaning towards the pin grabber for overall...
