Skyjack 3226 scissor lift- steering slow while moving

Thx Excavator- I went ahead and called Skyjack... they were very helpful. They're confident from my description of the issue that they know what the problem is. I'll document it to help future searchers: Apparently- steering while stationary, see's full pump relief pressure (3000 psi)...

Skyjack 3226 scissor lift- steering slow while moving

No takers? Emailed Skyjack as well... radio silence. I guess I'll venture in on my own and hope for the best. If anyone knows of a more active or appropriate forum for scissor lifts, I'd be interested.

Skyjack 3226 scissor lift- steering slow while moving

Follow-up- I downloaded the service manual and have been studying it. As best as I can figure, it seems the most likely cause is a defective/shorted diode. I presume these are used to drive the proportional valve when multiple funtions are selected at one time? Unfortunatley, the schematic...

Skyjack 3226 scissor lift- steering slow while moving

I just picked up this lift and need some diagnostic help. Everything works as it should except the steering barely moves while going forward or reverse. If I stop then steer, the steering works very quickly and moves fully in both directions. Nothing appears to be binding and controls clearly...

New 2 Me - Deere/ Hitachi 50C- Hydraulic Oil Dilema

Nige- thanks for chiming in.. I've read several of your other posts on the bigger Hitachi/Ashless/Zinc Free conversations. All good stuff and I have confirmed from several sources that correct oil for the machine is the 46HN. Not "knowing" for sure what has been used in the past is my...

New 2 Me - Deere/ Hitachi 50C- Hydraulic Oil Dilema

I agree and if the oil level was good, I'd just swap the filter and go. But- the level is low and I need to add at least a couple of gallons... hence my dilemma? I suppose I could just look for some zinc free synthetic AW32 and go with that? Perhaps I'm too concerned with compatibility but...

New 2 Me - Deere/ Hitachi 50C- Hydraulic Oil Dilema

Thanks guys- the oil sample may e a good idea and I'd think it coulld identify viscocity, zinc and stock type. But I didn't think it could identify additives or brand and I thought incompatible mixing could create more problems with foaming/breakdown?

New 2 Me - Deere/ Hitachi 50C- Hydraulic Oil Dilema

So I picked up a 50C and am doing a full service to it now. My problem is the original owner- a landscape company- had an outside company routinely service all his machines (Not all Deere's). I found recent dates on all filters and the machine is in excellent operational condition so I know...

TL130 shutting off with Low Coolant/Oil pressure light/alarm

I'm not sure how much help I can be but I'll try. With a mechanical diesel engine that is assembled correctly (and yours appears to be if it runs for 15 minutes), all it needs to run is fuel, air and compression. Compression could decrease as an engine heats up but that is measurable when...

    TL130, HELP!

That makes more sense... seems like it may not be the correct wiring harness if there's a difference in the connector pin out?

    TL130, HELP!

When did this change? In your first post you said "the fuel pump starts to do it rattle thing, even without the key in".

    TL130, HELP!

I'm not advocating checking the relays... I'm suggesting you trace power back from where it shouldn't be to determine how or why it's getting power when it shouldn't. This should lead you to your fault... or at least one of those faults.

    TL130, HELP!

your wiring diagram is different than mine but if were in your shoes, I trace things backwards. You mentioned your fuel pump runs as soon as the battery is hooked up. It appears your stop solenoid is also getting constant power. I'd start at the fuel pump and follow the current flow backwards...

Takeuchi TL130 Cold start - stalls - hard restart

I have a recent issue I hope someone can help with. If the machine is in the garage- it starts and runs perfectly all day. If I leave it outside OR even if I just turn it off outside when it's cold, if it sits even for an just an hour, it will start up normally (1 or 2 cranks) then stalls...

    Takeuchi blower motor lubrication

Thank you Heymccall. I have all of the manuals so I can get the part number. I wasn't aware of reddot so I'll do some digging there. My TL130 has heat and AC but I really only use the machine for snow removal so I don't use the blowers much. They do work so I was hoping for a cheap fix to an...
