    Can you tell me if you can remove the track tensioner piston on a 955L without separating the tracks? I would like to replace the rings and seals on the piston to see if my continual loosening of the tracks stops.

    What I'm trying to find out if it is possible to replace the track tensioner guts without separating the track. I don't have the alligator type track chains. So I would have to get a press to remove the pins. Thanks Nige.

    Wow your machine has come along way and looks great. It would be great to see a before and after picture when your finished. I'm curious about the decals you ordered from ORE. I usually order via the Internet and I haven't ever seen where they show decals. Do you have to call them to get decals?

    Is that a single post alternator that has a built-in regulator? Speaking of the gauge clusters, How is the wiring done on the amp meter? Or does your machine have a volt meter instead?

    Mike, The worst part for me was installing the wiper seal. Kshansen suggested installing the wiper seal on the rod first before you install the head plate. For me this worked. To install the wiper seal I used a brass foil paper plus I heated up the seal. Again good luck.

    The torque on the nut is 2000 lbft. But if you use red lock tight I heard that will work. The other option is to mark the nut before removing. I snapped a 3/4" drive trying to remove mine. Also I wish there was an easier way to capture the oil. good luck!

    I'm on to the next lift cylinder. I was able to get the rod out in about an hour. I was feeling good about the progress and then I hit the "Wiper Seal" road block. I can't believe how hard it is to get this seal over the lip of the rod. Anyway, more boiling water on its way.

    Nige that was the trick. Heated the wiper seal in boiling water and it went right on. Thank you so much for the help. I was wonder if anyone knew what the required torque spec is on the lift and tilt cylinder head bolts? I am figuring at least 200 ft lbs but I am not sure?

    I haven't tried boiling water yet. I did use a coffee pot the first time but the rubber wasn't malleable enough to get it to slide over the edge. I will try it again using boiling water. Thanks for your help Nige surely appreciate it.
