    Overload of the Day

Was parked talking with a neighbor when a wheel came off a boat trailer. Came bouncing down the road and took a lucky hop just clearing my hood. No damage other to underwear.

    Safety BS

That's one of the reasons I run a 1970's track loader. No lock outs except the one you manually operate on the "H-L-N-R" lever. I programmed the only computer on board (my brain) to check the position of the metal flap that locks the lever in the "N" position before I leave the seat.

Found a good "JD Yellow" paint source

VanSickle makes good paints for JD Dozers. They have primers and hardeners as well. The regular JD Yellow is good, just make sure it is not JD Safety Yellow. https://vansicklepaint.com/

    John deere fuel injection

Assuming that it is the same Stanadyne pump as on a 450, the simplest way is to send the pump out to a good rebuilder. I watched all the videos, and very carefully disassembled mine, documenting every step. Wound up sending it out for a rebuild. If you have pressure at the injector pump input...

    Dozer vs Track Loader

A track loader will do most things very well, a dozer can only push and rip. Tyler d4c is right on point.

Tore up the 24" backhoe bucket on my CAT 430F. Appreciate suggestions on sourcing another.

What thickness material did you use for the base and the ripper it self? Looking to build one for my Deere track loader w/backhoe attachment.

    EV

We have a 10 kw diesel ex-military generator and 300 gal of fuel. No problem with water, cooking (propane), ice or heat, a/c. Good for about 2 months before we need to refuel.

    450c First piece of equipment

Would strongly suggest you get an operator's, parts and maintenance manuals. Look on Ebay. Do you have the backhoe attachment, rippers or other attachments? Congrats and welcome to the fold.

JD455G with 4in1 bucket and winch

The hoe is an absolute beast. Most of my digging is in limestone. Small bites and the hole just keeps on getting deeper. Would like to get a smaller bucket to make it more effective for my tasks. I can have it removed in about 10 minutes, back on takes a little longer. With the hoe removed...

JD455G with 4in1 bucket and winch

I have a 450c track loader with the backhoe. If I don't need the hoe for the project at hand I take it off the machine. Balance is much better, no "hobby horsing", I can actually do some fair grading with the front bucket. You also don't have a 10 foot long tail swinging around behind you...

    Detroit 6v92 Rebuild Questions

Detroit 2 stroke engines were popular in older work boats. Look on line for "Boats and Harbors" they have a digital version of their for sale paper. Towards the back are non display ads for engines, you will find rebuilders and engines there.

    Overload of the Day

At least when the Ministry of Works showed up to move my 450 track loader they had an F350 with dualies and the same trailer to move the machine 5 miles when I opened the dump after hurricane Dorian.
