Help! Need Dozer Security
Just a suggestion but I would invest in a pretty good trail camera and if I had to leave the dozer in an area where I thought this might happen hide the camera watching the dozer and you will have pictures of the person messing with your equipment. Just like with trespassers they can't lie out... -

New Undercarriage
Thanks for the information QuickTrax, you never know sometimes saving a few bucks costs you a lot more in the end. I am glad to know that I can go with the other undercarriage. I would hate to have to pay for the Deere name. -

I am about ready to bite the bullet for a new undercarriage for my 550 dozer, was wanting some advice on going with all John Deere parts or parts from Heavyquip that are aftermarket parts. Pin & Bushing turn
Thanks for the information on the undercarriage, I was confused by all the information from the guys that come out and check if for you. Most don't even measure anything they just bend over and take a little look and say you need to have them turned. But they were telling me that 900 hours ago... -

I have a 550H Deere dozer that has around 1900 hrs. How many hours should I get on the pins and bushings after having them turned? I have been told they won't last long after the turn because they are hard to get sealed back correctly to keep the oil in them. -

JD 550's?? Where are they?
I bought one last year and have put around 700 hrs.on it and love it. It does anything I would want or have need to do with a dozer. I have had no trouble with it so far. -

I would think unless you have something frozen up it would hurt because the oil or grease will attrack and hold the dirt and grit and cause more wear on the parts. -

I tried to do that in Mississippi Alvin Tim. But the nice lady at the tax office told me unless I used it to pull a plow or disk all the time that I could not do that. I would have thought a farmer buying a dozer to clear off his own land and make improvements to it would not be like buying it... -
