Hi.

Was wondering if someone can shed some light on this. The excavator is tracking forward and back ok but wont track forward/left. The issue comes and goes. I just tried it now and its back working again.

Any ideas

Regards
John

Could be and issue in the brake on that side. Kinda hard to pin point if it won’t do it all the time.

Hi nige and db. Thank you for the replies.

The hyd oil is a creamy colour not very bright. No matter how many oil changes we do it always stays creamy in colour.

Havent got a chance to do the swivel. If you wait for the oil to heat up..(by raising and lowering the boom) she'll track away fine (except for maybe the tracking left issue)

Regards
John

G..G..G..Granville.........!! Fetch your cloth.
IMO* if the oil is water-contaminated it needs to be drained from all the:-
Cylinders
Travel & swing motors
Hoses
Valves
Tank
(* other opinions may be available)

You may find even with your best efforts that it takes more than one oil change to improve the oil condition to an acceptable point.

Best is to put gauges on pilots but in my experience it's usually in the travel valve on 200 series

Hi db

Just wondering if you could send a picture of the location where you checked pilot pressure at the main valves on your 215.

I teed into the line going to brake valves between the drive motor and final drive with a gauge. Best I remember u should have 300 psi here when moving. This will show pilot pressure as that’s what releases brakes. The travel valve is under the floor board that the pedals and lever are attached too.
