Yale forklift control valve - steering pressure

Unfortunately I do not have access to a service manual for this truck/valve.
It is from a Yale GLC050, I belive. The valve itself is a yale 9099166.

I wonder if anyone is familiar with it, or has a section of manual to share...

There are two relief adjustments on the valve. I assume the smaller one is for the steering, and the larger one is the for the other hydraulics. Caps where removed for the pic.

Also, there is a small "port" in the valve. What pressure would be sampled there?

Just above the STOR plug.

I hope that you have already solved your issue. But anyway the two relief valves that you see on the control valve are for main relief and auxiliary relief. Meaning side shifter or any other attachment that you may have. There should be a priority valve for steering. Find the pump and follow the discharge line and you should find it. I could be more helpful if I knew what the issue is.

Don’t know about this machine but Hyster has priority valve built in to pumps rear cover.
Original pump failed, so I replaced it with Parker P-16 and added cheap Brand adjustable priority valve.

Correct. That is the function of this valve section.

The smaller relief I referenced did indeed adjust the steering pressure. The main hydraulics are behaving adequately, so I did not adjust the other one. I have not even checked that pressure, but I suppose I will do so at some point.

And the small port that I asked about possibly getting a pressure from, had a spring and small spool in it. So, not for pressure check. So I just put a tee in the supply line going to the orbital valve to get my pressure reading.

As far as my issue, you might piece things together from looking at my other posts. But... I sourced this fork truck valve and orbital steering valve for use in a compact loader I have been rebuilding. With no solid reference point, I was not 100% sure on what adjustments would be required. I must assume that the fork truck required a lower steering pressure than what my loader requires. Thus my need to adjust it.
