They were more for the west coast of Canada logging market.
They were built "Logger" tough.
Loggers are hard on equipment, I know this first hand, I'm a mechanic.
At the time they were built, many of us in the industry were more then a little pissed at the choices for pickups
You really need to understand the logger mentality. Have a tank of fuel, a Bunch of left over cable, blocks and rigging, saws, gas and what ever else they think they might need in the back of a truck.
Than you drive like you stole it, up the side of the mountain.
During the course of the day, you might have to tie one of the cables from the yarder on to the back of the truck and pull several thousand feet of cable off and respool it on to the drum.
You might need to take a grapple with you, so just throw that in the back.
Now take all of that and put it into a remote inlet where you might get your freight once every two weeks.
So build a truck that is both tough and easy to repair with parts that might already be in your camp.
Such a good idea. Just too bad it did not happen.
