You sure have a talent for making all those parts that you manufacture, come out looking so darn good. Keep sharing as the build goes on, I sure enjoy seeing the pictures.

Reg, Is this one for your fleet or one you are building for someone else? I sure had a good time driving your Hayes dump truck, at the truck show. If you need a driver next year again I hope to get back up there. This time I am going to spend more time and see more of the island, and spend some more time with Steve in his HDX. I don't want to wear out my welcome with him, I enjoyed it so much riding with him that I could of done that for a long time. One of if not the best vacations I ever had and met some of the most friendly people ever. Everyone made me feel like I an old friend, and I look forward to seeing everyone again next year. Had our first snow, just enough to turn the ground white, last evening. It went from shirt sleeves to Carhartts in one day, with a lot of wind, just to make it miserable. As usual the good weather days I was stuck inside working on a remodel at the bank. Will be back there the middle of the week to finish what I can, since the tile is done. Told the bank I am retiring after this job, as I have remodeled just about all the bank over the last six years. Been a good place to work, with the president opening and holding the door for me in the morning. Got to love small towns, and old friends!

Thanks guys. One of these(complete truck) is going to a road building company in Port Alberni and the other(just cab, fenders, and hood) is going to TNTL Mini Logging & Construction out of Courtenay to rebuild a truck.lol(https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/TNTL-Mini-Logging-Construction/135995429936116). I did some finish work on the cabs yesterday so I will post up some more pictures soon. I guess I will make the fenders next although I am very busy at the moment building other things for people so I'm getting spread a little thin. I'm trying to manage my time wisely but that never happens...

Jim, you are welcome to run any of the equipment, any time! We are all looking forward to your next visit!

HDX.....tell me a story about this truck.....

diamondtguy....12 is original order from R.G Stevens, serial number 6311, 1974. I was told it was the first HDX ordered from Hayes Manufacturing stock with BD121,000 Clark rear ends due to hauling trains in Cumsack Creek, Bute Inlet. First few loads were hauled with wrong ratios and chewed a set of tires up. Had to fly a Clark rep in to tear one down and rebuild it so they were both matched. We purchased this truck and it's sister from R.G. I have the original build sheets on the trucks.

Thanks...Its a great looking truck...Had a similar problem with a P-16.Test driver and I had it out in the lot as it was acting funny.Did some checking and found one diff trying to turn faster than the other.Seems the ratio got tagged wrong somewhere along the line...All was well after a gear change........Cory
