1973 case 580b

Here is my 580b.Just picked it up from south of Ottawa. The guy who owned prior to me was running it without a charging system so I just finished rewiring her and replaced all the lights and the alternator.Replaced the front tires and fixed a few small problems but it works and is all there.

Hey, dangit. The 580b is a good machine very simple and easy to maintain and she looks to be a great condition.

This is our Cat 420D. We had another one but we traded it off on a 308C.

She is 1986! We bought her in 1993, replaced the gearbox, and after that we are so much satisfied, no serious damages at all. Laast year i replaced the hydraulic pump. Now i am thinking to replace it with a new one...
The tyres front and rear are bigger than normal, i cannot remember excactly the number, i will check it. It costs me less maneuvrability but bigger tyres have an advantage in the mud!

Hi all,

Just finished a session of seal kits on the stick & swing [5] then yesterday the four remaining for the front, plus tidy a few minor bugs out of the way, only a few to go, then well here in Oz unusually we have a big Winter // Spring on and I made a three inch track just moving into this position near my workshop, rained another two inches today and its sinking in place.

Never turn down rain - it feeds us and too many years of drought under the belt. :thumbsup

Just out of curiosity, what are the differences between that machine and one here in the USA? I see it's got a sideshift hoe on it, I've seen a very few of them here. Does it shift hydraulicly (as in have it's own control and cylinders to shift it)? Also, I notice the cab looks different than the K's and L's here. Is that the original paint? The K's here had the brown color cab with a case yellow type top, then they went to the gray with the L's. I'm just kinda curious about the differences.
