Would like to know why the search feature on this forum does not work?

Every search I do comes back with the above excuse for not working.

The search feature isn't that great TBH. Even the forum admins admit that. Anything less than 4 characters and it will give an answer the same as the title of your thread.

Try using a Google search with the following format: -

(Search term or terms) site:https://heavyequipmentforums.com/

The search term does not need to be put in brackets. I just did that to show you where it goes in the text string.
You can search for multiple items using the + character and also search for specific alphanumeric terms by using inverted commas " before and after the term you want to search for.

I have also found that words that would be very common on a site like this such as "Case" or "Cat" will return that result. Try adding more words to the search bar. "Case 580 Super M hydraulic pressure" instead of "Case + hydraulic"

Thanks Dave it will do that but using that as an excuse for your own forums search to not work is lame.

If your forum code is this bad that the search does not work at all is like driving a backhoe with bad tie-rods sooner or later one will break & it will take this forum down.

But you got the backhoe for FREE so all is good.

From memory it’s been like that for the last 14 years and it hasn’t taken the forum down yet. With all due respect I suggest you search elsewhere and hopefully you may have better luck.
